A few days late, on this one....

On Saturday we went to Bruges, Beglium and back to Brussels to see the city at night. First though, everyday has to start with a good breakfast, and what better way than ice cream on top of a waffle, with chocolate on top!!!!... After this delicious and nutritious breakfast, off to catch the train... It was probably about an hour train ride from Brussels to Belgium... Im not sure how to describe Bruges, other than its a beautiful that was probably quiet, until a Colin Farrel movie made it more known to the world. The easiest way to get around these cities is to look up, and by that I mean look towards the skyline, and see what's sticking out... Doing that got us to our first and only church in Bruges. It was quite a pleasant surprise. For 1 euro I got in and was able to walk around and marvel at the structure, some paintings and a Michelangelo sculpture (pic's below)... As well, an impressive sculpture of the Jesus on the cross, almost hovering above all. I can barely describe all I saw, but the photos speak for itself. I believe

some sort of royalty was buried there, and let me tell you, what you see in the movies (i.e. fancy coffin like things above the ground do exists for the royalty, i guess its sort of a super duper headstone thing)... After the church, we made our way to the city center, to see the famous bell tower (or at least famous from the movie anyways) It was of course another impressive structure, and right across from it was another City hall building that was breathtaking for only being a city hall... We also had lunch in the square (busy as all get out), and just to give you an idea of Europe, a ham n cheese sammich and a beer cost me about $17 us dollars... oh well, i guess the view was worth it... After lunch we headed just north of the city center to do some more walking, and saw some more cool buildings and stuff (see pic's below.. we just kind of meandered our way back to the station)

Part 2...
After getting back to Brussels, we decided to head to 'the bar' in Brussels-- Delirium, home to over 2,000 beers, and in the Guiness book of Records for most variety of beers consumed at one time (2004 to be exact)... I wouldn't say it was over rated (no bar that is playing free bird when you walk in is over rated) however, its just a busy bar with a lot of different beer.. Getting there though was fun.. You may not know this, but most the streets in Europe (from what I can tell) are very narrow, very narrow; for example, the ally ways are about the size of 2 to 3 lanes of traffic; but restaurants line both sides... I could have had a lot of bread and mussels had i just reached out and grabbed it.... However, on the way to the bar, we had to stop and see the Manneken Pis-- exactly what it sounds like, little boy peeing.. Quite a small sculpture, but its one of the most famous things in Belgium, they dress him in different clothes throughout the year, however, he remained in his unclothed state when we were there.. . Enough of that though, the impressive part of the trip was seeing Brussels Grand place at nite, as the buildings are lit up.. Below you will see a picture of the city hall again, but this time in a much more breathtaking manner....

MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT ALL THE PHOTOS

Thats all for now, had a heck of a time getting to the Hague on sunday (was suppose to be a 1 train 2 hr ride, turned in to a 4 train 4 hour ride!!) but more on that later
