As we found out our last night in Brussels, 5 Duvels seemed like a good idea at the time, particularly when two were free, not so much when you have 3 hours sleep and then have to catch two planes.....
Anyway, we arrived in Brussels after two days in Antwerp at Brussels Central, a train station only a short way from our hotel. The only problem was finding a road sign to identify exactly where we were. As the rain grew heavier and heavier, we gave up at headed to the taxi queue. After giving the drivers the address of the hotel, it was pretty obvious even to the non-French speaker that they were arguing about who would go. Finally one said to me "its not fair €10" Fine I thought, its raining, I dont care. However had he pointed down the road, I wouldve quite happily walked the 50metres to the hotel.
Our hotel, the Moon, was a very small hotel, only with 17rooms and no lifts. This proved fun for Chris as he lugged both suitcases up the stairs to our small but cosy room. The bathroom on the other hand was so small that one could

The Mannekin Pis, the national icon of Belgium not turn around properly in it, and in the shower had to be careful that when turning, you did not hit the faucet, thus changing the temperature. The location however was incredible. A two minute walk to the Grote Market and all the restaurants one could want. After being stuck in an area, last time I was in Brussels with no food as such, this was heaven. All places offered similar Italian themed menus, €12 for an entree, main course and desert. We chose the restuarant that also offered one free beverage of our choice and came back here for 2nights.. It wouldve been three except we got lost trying to find it on our second night!
A daytrip saw just catching the train to Bruge, and this time it was Chris that nearly got left on the train as he jumped back on to get his ticket, which was also our return ticket to Brussels. We both decided this was our flirting with trains done and one of us getting left on the way to Moscow would not be good! Bruge is a gorgeous small city in Belgium, known for its architeture and landscapes and although the weather

Duvel... Worst pouring of beer ever disappointed, the rest certainly didnt.
Belgium is famous for its comic book creation, Tin Tin. As a kid, my dad and I spent many hours reading this, so a must for me this trip was to visit the comic book museum. It certainly didnt disappoint with its many Tin Tin displays, all in French but good none the less.
Our last night was spent drinking too much Duvel.... Cant say no to two free beers... We stumbled to the Grote Market to take some night shots and then back to the hotel to pack and get the much needed 3hours sleep before heading to the airport for our flight to St Petersburg...
Maybe the beer was to take some of the edge of heading to Russia.....
