Well, sorry for the very short explanation of my first blog from Brussels, but I did it under the high pressure of my friends who were so eager to see some photos and hear some impressions. Well, I didn't have enough time to express all I felt and still feel since I set foot in this country. Now..after 2 weeks..my third weekend..I started to get used to the fast movement of these people, to the different languages I hear every day passing near my ear (2 days ago in the market next to my house were 2 kids talking very loud in Brazilian Portuguese..and when I went out, was a couple from Peru chatting about daily life). It's amazing how this mixture of cultures and languages blends so well with the cosmopolitan aspect of the city. If you want to be shocked, it's a proper place. There is a neighbourhood called Matongé packed with people from all the countries of Africa and in my neighbourhood called Flagey are a lot of Arabs.
This is a cool feeling. You are not an alien anymore, it's a place of contrasts, a world of untold stories, sometimes strict rules (that I like
very much), an environment where the fun and the gaining of professional experience can make one change and grow on all counts. Well, what can I share with you from the things happened to me this week? Sincerely, nothing much. But I can add some photos, as many as this poor wireless allows me and share some things I've seen here so far. I wonder if I already mentioned the huge amount of bikes around here, the animals and especially the REALLY small dogs someone can have..hahaha..so small they need bells at their necks, otherwise one can step on them.
The weekend was a blast! On friday evening we went to have a walk and ended up in a party of AIESEC Belgium in the Kick Off Congrees. We went 9 trainees in 2 cars (the PriceWaterHouse Coopers trainees always have cool cars, damn!). It was really fun and thanks to the GPS, we were laughing a lot..long story. There we had to choose between lots of nice drinks from all the LCs tables, taste sweets and chips with different flavours (my LC had something with Guacamole - @ ICHECH ROCKS THE HOUSE!!!!).
It was really funny and I

have to say that Aiesec here is really nice and they help you out whenever you call them, day or night. They are amazing and I'm very happy that I met them! Saturday was very sunny and we were walking around our neighbourhood and took a lot of pictures..hehe..like turists.
Last sunday was "Day without Cars" and every one - people of all ages - left the cars and went out in the center with all they had: bikes of 1 or 2 people, unicycle, something that we call "tricicleta", skateboards, and all that can have wheels and can make you gain speed. You'll see what I'm talking about. What astonished me was this respect that everyone showed to this event: NOT even one car (well, cars were allowed after 18.00), just buses and trams and all FREE all day! Hehehe, that is cool! It was amazing, even since morning the streets were packed with bikers of all ages, carriages dragged by huge shining horses and a peaceful silence...so strange..still - wonderful. So we went out after a nice brunch cooked by Esteban. We were with Lindsay(Colombia), Andreea(Romania) and Chichi(Nigeria). We went to rent bikes (as only Esteban has
one of his own), but it seems that many people had the same idea, so we couldn't find any bike to rent. So we were walking up and down the city, and took a lot of pictures. It was so refreshing..so warm outside..And in the evening we took advantage of the free tram and visited for a short time the mighty Atomium and something called "Mini-Europe", took some photos and came home desiring to go there during the day as well, even if it's almost 1 hour by tram away...
And now let's see what is this weekend gonna be, because for the next I've got a surprise for all the readers: trip to Paris (6&7th of October).
Watch and enjoy!
