01 Ruben's Triptych
'The Descent from the Cross' was in the cathedral. Geo: 51.2439, 4.46397
After a great breakfast that was included in our accommodation price, we caught the tram to the Cathedral of our Lady. It is a gothic church and has some of Rubens work in it, and things that all other churches have too.
Walked towards the water and saw a castle like building that is now the maritime museum- boring! Continued walking around and found somewhere to try the local cuisine- waffles!! I had cherries and cream on mine and it was delicious!! I then went to the Royal Musuem of Fine Arts- it was a good place to be as it was raining outside. Got an audio guide so i knew what i was looking at. There was a huge room filled with Rubens' work. There was also interesting modern art. Also saw one of Rodin's sculptures.
Browsed the shops on the way back to the hostel. I am so tempted to buy clothes, have been living in the same ones for two months now and am so over them!! If only my bag wasn't so heavy and full.
