How to get from Vienna to Istanbul in just over 2 week

With the realities of full time work holidays are a time to wind down and, kick back and relax on a beach for two weeks in the sun. surely. I mean, that's what any normal, sensible, responsible person would do. But not us, oh no. For our two week nice relaxing holiday we decided to backpack from Vienna (Austria) to Istanbul (Turkey) with our trusted travel buddy Rachael, taking in Budapest (Hungary), Belgrade (Serbia) and Sofia (Bulgaria) on the way. All in just over two weeks.
