Beautiful hills and mountains
UK & Europe, May 1993

Can't remember much about Innsbruck or maybe it is because we didn’t spend so much time there. I think by this stage we were all reaching saturation point for all the sight seeing we had done up till now. By now we had been through 3 countries and so many cities and towns in about 7 days, that we needed a breather. This includes all the travelling time from London through all the countries we had seen thus far. But of course we didn't sit still - you can't let an opportunity like this go wasted. We walked around the town and saw the Golden roof - a landmark of Innsbruck constructed for Emperor Maximilian to watch tournaments in the square below. We also visited a most beautiful church, the Innsbruck Cathedral.

The rest of the time we walked around parts of the town, then walked around the gardens of Hofgarten. This was possibly our day for just getting away from the usual touristy places and we didn't have much time to do anything else as we were only there for a day. One thing I do remember clearly - the scenery

was beautiful. It reminded me quite a bit about Switzerland.

Germany next.
