It's about time I get into gear and update this old thing again! This semester has been full of days off and extended weekends, as the Austrians are not the biggest fans of effort and work. I thought this was awesome. Lots of houses in Halstatt had trees growing up against them, and were trimmed according to windows, etc.

There was a store for glass-blowing, and this was a wine glass that was doubled over, and inscribed was, "Nie Wieder Alkohol," meaning, "alcohol never again."

We were all psyched to see this guy. It's perfectly normally in Austria to wear the traditional clothes as everyday clothes, and this guy had a wooden backpack and everything.

WOW! WOW!! WOW!!!. Absolutely spectacular pictures. I am with the rest sooo jealous. The house trees are called espaliering, which is a form of pruning so that the leaves and fruit or flowers are only on the front side. Very intricate but beautiful to look at........Love ya, Nanny
