If they were going bungy jumping… I was IN, but they weren’t… so I was left to tidy up after the night before…. Until plans change, they sat waiting in the van for a good 15 mins, and came back in, and next thing you know it, Carolina and I were in the van off to Cola de Caballo with the lads.

Oh yeah, the number of ‘lads’ I lived with increased for the weekend, about four of macs’ (flatmate) and chriss’ came from the US, but they were lovely boys, took short showers, slept on the couch and the airbed, didn’t eat TOO much, drunk lots.

So here we were in an excursion, a 8 seater, and the boot, which I swapped with Carolina to be in, because jade’s lazy and wanted to lye down ☺ in the boot…
So we drive for about 2-3 hours, which I’m sure the last time I went it didn’t take longer than just over an hour, but that’s boys for you. It’s bad enough being an international student but a female international student, in Mexico, you have next to no luck of people actually listening to you and your navigational knowledge. (I did orienteering in intermediate!!!)

We drove through some superb places though, over some roads, that weren’t roads, and got stuck in a river ☺ turns out the van looked nice with the DVD player and extra added features, but minus the 4x4 option ☺ not the smartest move, but again, that’s boys for ya ☺ gotta love’m.

Ended up walking what was supposed to be ‘not even a mile’ to the destination - the lake. Turquoise and serene in it’s entirety with a wonderfully magic waterfall to match, the longer than expected mini excursion experience, was well worth it. Fortunately for us, there was a 4x4 Ute thing that took us ‘that mile’ back to our van, which eventually got pulled out by some motorcycle men Carolina and I approached for help.

So all and all it was a good day ☺ Got lost (then eventually got to our destination), got stuck (then towed out by friendly MexiCANs), got back in time for the pre party, did I mention it was fog’ville driving back down through the gigantic-size mountains, oh and not to mention we ran into a avalanche. The rangers, and a few locals had

i liked the boot/ trunk anyway
been clearing it for a few hours, because the jeep that left when we arrived at the lake, was stuck there, and they had the ‘quiensinera’(senorita that turns 15 and a big celebration is held for her) in the vehicle and all her guests for her party (which we got invited to, btw) were on the other side of the avalanche, it all worked out in the end. Everything happens for a reason right?

And even though lots of things happened today, and in some ways I wish I was making some it up, at least one good thing came out of it: at least now… I won’t be short of stories to tell my grandchildren ☺

Nos vemos
jadEy

p.s I lie there were a bizillion things that were great, that came out of the day
p.p.s I lie again, not a bazillion, more like a couple hundred ☺
