Quad Biking
Here is a group picture of all the guys that went through the Forest quad biking Another early start for the boys.We all met around the Breakfast Table at around 8am.Babes was well fresh after his 40 minute run an hour earlier!
Today we were picked up at 9.30am by a guy called David who has a company called Fun Bikes Ltd.We were taken on a journey through the countryside which lasted about 20 minutes. We turned off the road to a place called "The Great House". This place was wonderful....with the majestic Liamuiga mountain a short distance away, you will find the Great House situated in two and a half acres of tropical gardens. From the house there are panoramic views of The Atlantic Ocean and the other Caribbean Island's of St. Barth's and St. Martin.
The great House was built in the early 18th century by a guy called Sam Crooke and later added to by Charles Adamson. The house is one of the earliest sugar plantations houses on this Island.Over the past 50 years the house provided private residency for one of the Island's established families.
New ownership took place in 2001 and since then the house and gardens have undergone extensive restoration reflecting and emphasising its colonial heritage. The

Gordon on his quad bike house and surrounding gardens are that big it boasts a permanent marquee that holds weddings, corporate functions and music parties.David has even taken on orphaned monkeys that he has hand reared from when they were babies in a neat monkey house in a shaded part of the garden.(see picture)
After a brief safety meeting about how the Bikes worked we followed en mass our group leader called Bob...this wasn't his real name but as no one new what he was called we quickly named him Bob as looked like Bob Marley...simple stuff really!
We meandered though the sugar plantations stopping off at various points of interest along the way. These machines are 250cc so they are quite powerful especially as the terrain was very bumpy as the journey progressed. With the sugar harvest now stopped by the local government the people that worked within this industry were compensated by being given bits of land to cultavate and grow their own produce that they can sell on and take all the profit. The size of land they received was dependant on how many years that they had worked in the sugar industry. We saw people tending to cabbages,Bannanas, onions and caulieflower. So the

We travelled up steep hills and meandered through the forests and then cam down to The Atlantic Ocean where we got off for a breather and take on some water. We had covered many miles as we headed back up to the house where cold drinks were waiting for us.As mentioned above we had a look at the monkeys where Ravi seemed facinated by they!! He snapped picture after picture!!
David drove us back to base camp where we all jumped into the pool to cool down as once more it is blistering hot day.We all to a man agreed that this trip had been the best so far and the $70 that was paid for our 4 hour jaunt was excellent value for money.
After jumping the pool we headed for lunch which was upto its usual high standard. The two athletes in the group had a massage by the resident lady beside the gym as they both have aching muscles due to their running
