Comayagua to San Jose, Costa Rica

Crossing the border into Costa Rica took the usual 3 hours (thereabouts) but at least there were no extortionist costs and the people seemed pretty civilised to deal with.

Costa Rica is a beautiful very scenic country with stunning beaches (apparently the surf's great - home of the 'Long Left-hander'). On one coast is the Pacific Ocean where I can practically see home, and on the other coast is the Carribean sea.

We stayed at a nice hotel in San Jose which was decorated with Halloween themed paraphernalia.

Next day we wove along the coastline to Uvita which is on Ballena beach. Our hosts brought out complimentary platters while we enjoyed fivesies overlooking the ocean.

All of the Central American countries we've visited have had their own uniqueness about them; the people look different, the language differs slightly and the scenery varies.

Uvita, Costa Rica to David, Panama

Much the same amount of time crossing the border into Panama (3 hours). A bit of civility as we had shade to wait under while we jumped through the usual hoops involved in crossing a border.

About an hour and a half later we arrived in David which is a bustling city with lots of traffic, people and shops. We bought a dinner of chicken and chips with two beers for $9.36 USD, bargain!

Hello from home ....
Hi there! How are the travellers? Mosh I'm learning a lot about geography reading your blogs .... Really must study the globe more!!! Your trip sounds amazing - thank god you're doing this blog because imagine how many wines it would take to recount these adventures!!! Thank you soooooo much for the Valtea shirt - Chanel dropped it by last week and Ben had it on in 5seconds flat. He moves it, so thank you. Not much to report from here - it's getting warmer, Ben started school last week. Can you believe it? Chanel seems fine and we've seen Ryan a couple of times also and he's looking well. Hoping to line him up some work over the holidays all going well. You guys look very happy and relaxed .... Enjoy and take care of each other xxxxx

Hey there you
Was thinking of you today! We're good, catching a sail boat from Panama to Colombia starting tomorrow. We'll island hop through the Carribean to cross the Darien gap. Can't believe wee ben's at school. Glad he liked the shirt, I do hope it fitted ok ?. Everything sounds under control at home. Thanks for considering Ryan for a bit of work, hope he works hard if you do. Only 8 weeks left now and we'll be back, think I'll be lost! Can't wait for a change of wardrobe!! Kim xx
