Already 2 weeks in Casa ISHQ, let’s stay for another week. This is a truly unique location, we have breakfast sitting with our feet in the Caribbean sea.
Our host Carlos Leonardo is unique as well, according to his profile he speaks about 16 languages. Impossible for us to check.
We meet all kinds of volunteers, all with a different story.
Hannah drew our profile picture, a drawing talent. Born in Botswana, she is only 25 but traveling for the last 7 years. When the terrain gets though she is still walking bare foot. Amazing. The Internet isn’t always reliable but Hannah knows exactly how to speeds up texting, see photo.
We help our host
4 hours a day with projects and DIY jobs. Carlos is crazy about the war game Memoir 44. Numerous tanks and soldiers have already been painted. Nancy is mainly varnishing the soldiers. Tom is not in for the detailed work, the sea makes everything rusty very fast. A statue, weights, wheelbarrows and some old tables, everything can use a new layer of antirust and paint.
In Piña, a 2 km walk along the beach, a friendly guy starts a conversation. He is distributing pamphlets for the upcoming elections on the 4
th of May. Nancy also wants to support the candidate who has “buenas ideas”. On the road back to Casa ISHQ the fishermen are pulling their net onto the beach. They ask me for a helping hand. They thank me by offering me a few small fishes.

Fijn!
