First!
Even though I hate those asinine people who claim this on other web posting comments, I am honored to be the first on your blog! Love the pictures, except for cringing at the one of your jellyfish attack. Funny how we were just at the zoo today gazing at them safely behind glass. Can't wait to hear more- stay safe!

Love you, too!!!
Hello dear Friend, and greetings to the extended network of all of you! Ryan, what a beautiful journey you have described so far. The image of the volcano with parakeets flying all around is incredible, and something to contemplate while dealing with my alternate reality, which invovles too much traffic. So, is the first post coming from me a shock to the system??? Much love to you, always. Amrit

Great blog!
Hey Ryan, love the travelogue type blogs! As I rarely get to go anywheres distant and exotic I love to read about others adventures in far places. Is the Alexis you mention the same Alexis who interned at JG? Next time you speak with her tell her I said howdy! Will look forward to keeping up with your blogs, stay safe and happy surfing! L

Fascinating
Ryan, You never cease to amaze me with your adventures. I was excited to find your blog! After reading ALL of it, I have decided you could make a living traveling the globe, doing what you love, writing/filming documentaries... Sounds good, huh? I cringed at the jellyfish sting pics as I have been a victim of one (or several hundred) in Mexico. I felt your pain! Made the mistake of squishing a bunch of "bottlecaps" inside the neck of my "skin" surfacing from a dive in Cozumel. The next day, went aboard an overniter and when we got on the boat, one of the Mexicans immediately says to me, "You bean jellyfeesh diving!" He sent one of the guys to fetch some laundry powder, mixed it with water and told me to apply the paste to the welts. He could not believe the guys on the dive boat had not done so the day before. The relief from the burning was almost immediate. I suppose it has to do with bleach. Thought i would share in case you had not heard or tried this. I had to keep a cold bandana on the area up til that point, to relieve the burning pain. I know you were miserable. Anywho, keep us posted! We might learn a few things. Most importantly, we want to be sure you are not kidnaped by some wild and crazy American Chix! Take Care and Have Lots of FUN! Luv, Aunt Denny {:=p

feel like I'm there!
I've heard of yours and Alexis' various adventures over the years, so I can imagine this one pretty well, thanks to the updated technology of photos on blogs! I wish I was there enjoying you enjoying the experience! Too bad those 10 days had to end. Ohio is kind of off your travel map of destinations, but I do hope to see you soon Ryan!

good thing one of us read the directions on that rock..... hiding under the car during a volcano eruption?!?! what if the cabbie is in the middle of adding fluids to the engine when that happens? then what??..... i think i'll just arch my back and dive.

Enjoy the adventure
Hey Ryan...sounds like you're having a great time on your adventure...keep it up. Sorry to hear about the jellyfish stings...must have been pretty miserable. Your Mom told Barb about your blog so that's why I'm commenting. Keep it going as I'll check it out from time to time. Loved the pictures and am looking forward to hearing more about your travels in the coming months.
