At the crater lake I finished my final two dives of my Open Water certification with my excellent diving instructor Fidel Lopez. He's been a great teacher both with theory and practice. I feel completely confident in diving now and am excited about diving in the future. Check out his website and services at http://www.neptunenicadiving.com/

The bottom of the lake (in an extinct volcano) was very soft and you had to be careful not to stir it up by touching it. Get the buoyancy right! We saw blind fish and many crabs. Not quite as good as my dives in the Pacific off Hermosa Beach in San Juan del Sur. There I saw a spotted eel, a moray eel, a sting ray, lots of lobsters, star fish, schools of fish and it was a great introduction to the underwater world.

After the diving we drove to Managua, stopping outside the city for some amazing breads and meats that we made ham/turkey/cheese sandwiches from. Fidel and I were killing time till Robyn lands in Managua so we went to a movie and window shopped in the mall. After being away from her for almost two months it was so good

to see Robyn at the airport. Fidel was kind enough to drive us back to San Juan Del Sur, so we'll start our trip in the south and work our way north back to Managua.

When we returned to San Juan it was pouring rain. The short walk up the steps (turned waterfall) at Pelican Eyes left us drenched. But we soon got dry and warm in the room. Who knows what tomorrow will bring!
