plans change sometimes

So, the Robin's Nest board decided at their recent meeting that it is now going to be mandatory for long term volunteers, like myself, to go through training before they come. [See www.orthanos.org] This means I'm not going to be in Jamaica at the Nest from May-September after all!
I'm really sad that I don't have another five months with the kids, staff and our community and the students in our small church youth group.
I think God is allowing my heart to be protected though.
I am going to try to visit this summer, and hopefully go to camp with the church kids!

I only have two weeks left of life here...
at least for now...

After I found out about this new change, I applied on greataupair.com just to see about going to Europe for a little while...
and when I get home after my fabulous road trip with my dad and brother, I'll apply at Starbucks. Hello insurance! I haven't been to the dentist since 2003...

Anyways...
Matthew still needs prayer to gain weight. He's doing pretty well...although, he spit up on me about 8 times this evening.
Pray that the container we've been waiting on for MONTHS will successfully be unloaded and everything safely delivered tomorrow.

I wish I would have been updating this thing more, especially since I don't have another five months to be writing about how everything is going here...
I was surprised at how emotionally taxing this was. I wouldn't "do much" during the day, but what I was doing was more draining than one would expect. [Like 12-hour days at the hospital with a really sick baby, for example.]
But I loved it all...except for the part where I didn't take days off for a long time and felt like a zombie for about a month due to exaustion.
ha.

I will still eventually post more pictures on here...
And I have 13 days left for more updates.
