All right my little piglets,
enough fooling around... time to get back to business 😊
So the last 4weeks were fruitful in many ways and a part of me wants to stay some more to improve my Spanish... ye BUT 😊
I can't continue to learn Spanish forever and well, now is as good as a time as ever to move on I guess.
I've been thinking since my last entry wetter I should share my future plans or not.
The main reason for not sharing too much of my plans until now was simply because most of the time I simply wasn't certain of where I would be going next.
I always had some idea and some options but most of it was decided then and there as I planned.
But now I have had some extra time to contemplate and figured out some route that seems both logic and well 😊 plain awesome.
So I guess I might as well share 'da plan'.
That and the movie '127hours' crossed my mind, so I guess its in my best interest to tell you guys where I will be heading.
Before I continue I do feel like adding that this route is just a current idea of mine and little bits might very well alter during the trip so don't be too surprised when I end up somewhere where I didn't say I was going.
It is as well very likely that some things get added still since I am not thinking ahead too far besides some vague overall plan.
I also didn't really consider anything beyond Buenos Aires for various reasons, the most obvious one being that arriving there is still two or more months away(so ye the original idea to circle the globe in six-ish months has been out the window for some time already.).
Also a part of 'the plan' is to avoid flying as much as possible, obviously this means that I wont be moving terribly fast but who wants that anyway right?
So after this week(in the weekend of 28/29th of may) I will head out to a place in Guatemala called Semuc Champey, which are basically some natural pools formed over an underground-river which I was told to be a really cool place and definitely a must-do when passing trough Guatemala.
After spending a couple of days there, the plan is to travel trough Honduras, Nicaragua(where I will be looking to take the boat to cross the lake of Nicaragua) and Costa Rica to end up in Panama.
Where I plan to find a nice spot to spend a couple of days and find a way to pass the Darien gap, which will either be plain or boat I guess.
There I will also decide if I am going to visit 'Angel Falls' in Venezuela, which are very nice but a bit hard to get to and out of the way. I admit I didn't really research yet how I am supposed to get there and everything but, I guess I can do that somewhere along the way to Panama.
Besides Angels Falls, I was planning to check out Colombia, which I was told to be really nice as well.
Basically I will be travelling trough at a slow place and might spend the night here or there.
Same counts I guess for Ecuador, however no one told me yet I should spend some time there so I guess I will just pass trough.
If I passed trough Ecuador I should have arrived at Peru(if I didn't mess it up too much 😉 ) where I will perhaps spend a couple of days in Lima before heading out to Cusco, from where I will be checking out, maybe the highlight of this trip, Machu Picchu and the other nearby sites.
From there I will head further south to Titikaka lake and its region which will also mean that I have arrived in Bolivia.
There I will visit the 'salar de Uyuni'(salt plains of Uyuni).
And then … I don't know yet :/
Head west and skip over the border into Chilli?
Or what I am considering the most head east into Brazil and aim for Rio which is a certainty on the list(unlike Chilli).
From Rio I will most likely head south-west-ish for Sao Paulo, which is basically the largest soccer-crazy city of the world.
There I will hopefully be able to attend a game before heading on to Foz do Iguacu.
After spending probably about a week there I will in all likelihood look for a way to make it to Buenos Aires where I will spend my last days in the Americas before flying to the indisputable best place of the world... but like I said, nothing is certain so I might go somewhere else first.
I guess only God knows at this point 😉
So this is it, … the plan.
Any comments, advice or whatever you've got are more than welcome.
Cheers from an eager-to-move-on Pieje.

nice prospects but difficult decisions are still to be taken
Dear Peter, let me first congratulate you on becoming the master. This will be of great help now that you seem to have decided to prolong your stay in Central and South America. You are going to slow down your pace and take some rest from time to time. This is quite understandable. Your initial plan to travel around the world in 6 months has been taken out of the window. For practical or financial reasons difficult to achieve, I assume? Flying from one place to another, again and again with the current increasing fuel extras... not cheap I imagine? But then you are vague about your further intentions. Are you planning to stay in Central and South America for another two months and then move on to the indisputable best place of the world... The United Kingdom of Belg.....? Or am I completely wrong ? It is extremely difficult for those who never have been in Central or South America to help you select the most beautiful places which deserve your visit. But if I were you, I would pay a visit to Buenos Aires(it needs two to tango and lots of beef)and of course Rio de Janeiro( Portuguese and not Spanish, more than10 million inhabitants, thus more than the people living in our country, in a nutshell one big crazy city). Then Sao Paulo. The city of Pele. Again you will have to fly to watch a match in Sao Paulo, I fear. But watch out, is the comptition still going on ? 2 months is a long time, but if you want to see all those interesting places it will soon become clear that you need much more time. Therefore a good selection is certainly necessary. This weekend you will proceed with your travelling. Next place: Semuc Champey. Never heard of this place, but this means nothing. I imagine there are many nice places, we never heard of. Good luck Peter with your travelling and your choices.
