We then headed back to Guatemala our new home it feels and it was good to be back. We made it to Rio Dulce in one day from Placencia, stopping in Livingston en route; realising there’s nothing there and finding digs in Rio Dulce instead, lake Izabal! We have found a very nice place to stay to celebrate Michelle’s Birthday (30 Nov). It’s a bit luxurious and pricey compared to what we usually pay but still only about 11 quid! The website is www.tortugal.com if you wanted to have a look. We have our own little bungalow and Michelle is well chuffed as it’s very nice and all romantic, so a perfect place to spend a birthday! It’s been great, free kayaks, stunning views, swimming and chilling. We visited a little place called Finca El Paraiso, Everyone would love it, this place is just amazing similar to Fuentes Georginas in Guatemala, hot spring pools but with the added bonus of it coming from a red hot waterfall just like being in a shower and a cold river running into the pools. It’s so strange standing in a waterfall and the water being so hot and then cool water flowing past you

Swimming in the cool water and letting the hot water from the waterfall cascade over me. Pure bliss, this is the life!!
from the river. I don’t know of any other place in the world, which has this, but I will keep on looking as so nice!

At the moment we are miles behind schedule as spent an extra month in Mexico and looks like nearly an extra 2 months here before we end up leaving. We expected to be in South America in Jan but it’s looking more like April or even longer at this rate we will have to see how it goes. One of the main reasons to stay here is that it’s so cheap and spending about 20gbp between us, less than half what we were in Mexico. If it stays like this we will not be home until 2008!! Some of the other countries on the list are expensive so I am sure that will average it out! Belize was one of them we spent about 70Gb a day! That’s diving for you!

Tomorrow we are Heading to El Savadoe for another short stay about 10-14 days before we head back to Xela to pick up are other back pack. Can't wait!!

I will keep you updated to what happens in El Salvador.
