View of Flores Island from boat
Today, we walked into Santa Elena- definintely not as quiant as Flores. We also decided to take a lancha (boat) tour to a little island we had spotted while swimming. Apparently, the island is owned by one family and they started a small museum to display their large collection of Mayan artifacts. The museum ended up being a little disappointing, but the view from the boat ride was well worth it.

Cultural Note

-Guatemalans, like most Hispanics, greet people with a slight kiss on the cheek. We ran into someone who works at a hotel next door to my sister, and even though they don't know each other very well, that kind of greeting is standard.

-Diet Coke is called Coke Light

We decided to get our money's worth out of the tour, so we explored the island! I loved all the beautiful plants.
