We got our bus back to Hanvan and hoped to get a second overnight bus down to the East end city of Santtiago de Cuba. 10 hrs in havana , told no bus so off to train ticket office 10km away to find it closing. Thought we were told to come bak at 3pm but it was closed until Monday 3rd. We then tried to get a ticket fornight tain at public station for 2 hrs , queued 3times to be told NO way. In between we had anotrher good look around Havana and we enjoyed the people at the cafes etc. 5pm we gave trhe bus station another go and they now had a 10pm bus. cool. 15 hr trip so we rocked in at 1 pm Sunday and added on 70km out of town and around the coast.

We stopped for a couple of swims , second in a small river with a crowd of friendly locals, had a couple of offers of marriage etc again. Then at 7pm we found a 4 star resort. Very cool $50 each with everything paid for , 3 meals , drinks , everything. So we have stayed on for a 2nd night here and we are enjoying a day of relaxing by the pool. Good food too,

We have some miles to cover after this to get back to havana.Chris might bus 300 km and let James cycle for 2 days and meet up in Santi Spirtis.

Thanks for the comments-messages. Love to everyone.

You are doing a great job of staying in touch, good effort. Watched a cool program on the discovery channel about cuba, crocodiles among the most volatile in the world ( watch out) cute little frogs as big as your fingernails( dont run any over) Huge iguanas, and two species of hummingbird cool. Crabs migrating would make cycling fun( a million all crossing the road at the same time ( freaky). and I did not know that Cuba used to be in the pacific- cool. Let me know if you do get married, I will send a gift hehe. Waikanae wet and cold but all good Love Sue

Sheep!
The sheep have only got out one time and seem to be doing what they should be. Theres plenty of lambs in the set stock sheep by the look of it but can also see wee dead bodies when looking down from the terraces. I had to lamb a by the road on geoffs (dave was here to give me a lesson luckily). Pulled out 2 dead ones but then when I went past this am she had yet another dead one hanging out. We have had a whole week of warm norwester so its been good. The main mob has had maybe 10-15 sheep lambed. I have kept them back as best as i could. Seems a boring email to send to the Caribbean! hope you are well and having a great time and taking lots of photos to show us. Wish I was there!! Love Lorrin < (From Liam. ) Matt says the surgery sheep at Bruces has 2 lbs.

News
Good to hear your news. While I have never been to Cuba, I have a pretty good sense of the challenges of travelling around the region. Although Cuba sounds as if it has more than its fair share of particular issues. How are you going without Spanish? Managing to make yourself understood? Sounds like James is the more enthusiastic rider in the heat - I would be hopeless. Keep up the news

Chicas.. hot hot hot
Skanky is the fasion here. Lots of hot pants etc . Everyone is sexy, thin fat everyone. Its a bit sad the old western men at the resorts with young local girls. We get offers , I think , not much spanish helps us. I did try chatting up a very hot russian girl at the hotel only to figure out she was working there. Quanta costa...

Rest is over
The limited spanish makes it harder but been under out own stream evens that out a little. I just managed to get 300miles on an overnight bus with the bike after working at it for 3 hours and a bribe .
