Edit Blog Post

Wow, it has been 2 months since our last blog posts. Everything is fine here - in fact, we have been so busy with stuff at the clinic, school, out-of-town visitors, and family life in general that we haven't been able to sit down and reflect on our recent adventures.

So, this weekend with no visitors and no big plans, we committed to getting things caught up. We have broken things up into distinct posts, which you can reach by clicking on the links below:

Click Bri Bri for Nancy's account of her trip to the Bri Bri indigenous area on the Caribbean side of the country with Christian, Dayan, and med students from Michigan State University

Click Semana Santa for a description of our Semana Santa (Easter Week) adventures

Click Tortuguero to read Kyle's account of our trip to Tortuguero.

Click At the beach with the Wildcreas for our trip to Manuel Antonio and the Pacific coast with our neighbors from Minnesota

Click Keeping busy even when we are not traveling for a summary of other highlights of the past few weeks, including some special animal visitors we had to our house

So, we hope you enjoy reading about our activities. And for those of you who were wondering.... we will be heading home the first week of September. This will mean that we will have been here exactly a year, will enable Nancy to fulfill her commitment to her clinic that she would only be gone for only 1 year, and will allow the boys to get back on the American school calendar back at their old school. The next 4 months will no doubt be busy and filled with both excitement about returning home and some sadness at leaving this wonderful place and the friends we have made.

Nancy's family is arriving later this month (her sister, niece and nephew for 1 week and her parents for almost 2 weeks - with a 3 day overlap to be spent at Arenal volcano). We will be exploring the northwestern part of the country for the first time - so stay tuned for more stories and pictures, hopefully posted in a more timely fashion!

Pura Vida!

wow!
Loved reading everything. One of my dear friends who does not have a computer loves reading about your adventures so I print them out for her. She will love these, but sometimes everything does not print out, Steve, mr. computer guru, can you think of why that is. Now I will have to write out what doesn't print. Love to all, Grandma. I am still trying to figure out a way to come visit again. Have fun with the Minn. grandparents. I know you will.

Try the Print Version screen
On the left hand side of every post, there is a button labeled Print Version. If you click on that, it takes you to a new screen with everything laid out so it can be printed without all the excess stuff. Hopefully that will work better. Steve
