Inside the living room of our hotel A monkey was on our balcony today……and WE WERE NOT HERE! How do I know? Because I left a banana on the ledge and for the two hours that we went out for lunch we came back and found a banana peel on the floor - how do you like that, eat and leave trash behind! Oh well I am hopeful that the new banana I put out will secure me an up close encounter with a monkey.
We did go to Manuel Antonio Park today, we hired a tour guide who without we would never of spotted three different varieties of bats, two and three toed sloths, crazy neon colored bugs but I was the one who spotted the white faced monkey! The best part was once we saw one, we then saw about 5 more, apparently they live in troops and keep to an area, the first one we saw seemed to enjoy us looking at him and he jumped all around us and I got some great photos, we walked further down the path and ended up not 2 feet away from one who was in a bush on the ground eating berries and they were not

Inside the living room of our hotel afraid of us, though it wasn’t like we were trying to touch them or anything so it was like as long as we kept to our space and respected theirs they were happy to be the subject of our photographs. We even saw these bright red land crabs, so cute in these brown and green jungles.
We had the fortune of a sunny day and it wasn’t too hot, our tour was 2 hours and by the end we had seen a lot of animals and were ready for a dip in the pool, though that hasn’t happened yet. For lunch we went to a place called the Blue Monkey and tried some Costa Rican dishes which were not much different than Cuban, white rice, black beans, plantains, grilled meats. Though I had the house special which was bacon, ham, chicken, shrimp mixed with rice and served with fries and salad - see like I said they like their carbs like the Cubans
We went to a stop in shop type place and Adam and Jay got some local made liquors to try and we got some juice and stuff for breakfast before we go out for the

View of the balcony canopy tour tomorrow. Elena and I have been stopping in the galleries and souvenir stores looking for good deals and comparing prices, we hope to bring back some good art work for a great memento of the trip. So far we have a few souvenirs for friends and family and are quite proud that we have as much as we do and it is only day 2 here!
I keep getting a reality check, all of a sudden it will dawn on me that we are in fact in Costa Rica. I am really enjoying it here, the rain is falling now and Adam is in out hammock, Jay on a lounge chair and me at the table on the balcony all listening to the rain and the birds and it is so peaceful, I hope this trip passes by slowly.
