Street scene in San Jose
This makes me really familiar, because it is also seen in Taiwan too. Everything is just simple here.
Wow, this is the first time I write a blog about TRAVEL. The 1st stop is Costa Rica due to my boyfriend, he is a Costa Rican. He loves here, and after two weeks of exploration, I think I slightly understand why. Here the life is quite easy, tranquil and actually full of entertainment. Different from what I experienced in Taiwan(I am from Taiwan), the entertainment here is natural and relaxing.
Sometimes, watching people and their family in the park or churchs is kind of entertainment. Learning Costa Rican Spanish vocabularies is also interesting. Everything is just simple here. Before coming here, I thought it would be such a boring place. However, after visiting San Jose, Grecia, and Heredia, I think it is more appealing than I thought before.
FOOD
I don't know how they did it, but anyway enjoying the bites is more important than anything else, isn't it?
Food here is cheap and delicious. Gallo Pinto is for sure worth trying. It's like Chao Fan in China and Taiwan, but mixed with red beans. Red beans here are eaten salty, which is really different from that in Asia, we have it sweetened.
Fried chicken stand is everywhere, and usually they will be sold with the cooked pork. Believe me, it is really
Gallo Pinto
Amazingly delicious!! amazingly delicious!! Juicy and crunchy, mmm, I am hungry again. However, knowing which stand sells the HQ chicken and pork is important. Otherwise, you might say that's not true, haha.
Pizza here is also a really good choice. They are served BIG and CHEAP!! I don't know how they did it, but anyway enjoying the bites is more important than anything else, isn't it?
PEOPLE
People here are rather peaceful and joyful.
In Costa Rica, it is necessary to know this phrase, "Pura Vida." One of my friend told me that it means "terrific or something fantastic." So, people here are rather peaceful and joyful. It is rare to see people shouting or screaming on the streets. However, people here seem to be more timid when meeting Asians. Several times when I want to ask the direction and walk towards them, they are scared like the birds beat by the stones. I feel a bit sad. But, well, most of them are nice still.
Well, I have 16 days left for this simple and tranquil country. I hope to find out more aspects of it and share with you soon!!
