I went to the library for free internet. This historical landmark was built by Governor William Frederick Haynes Smith in 1897 and is the oldest Government Complex on the island. The upstairs has always housed a library and the downstairs held offices, including the former official residence of the local doctor. The building has been renovated through the efforts of a civic organization called "Friends of the Library" and is once again a Public Library. The success to date is due to the commitment from the Board of Trustees, Operating Committee, volunteers and the worldwide membership. Visitors, students, and locals can visit the library and have full use of the Internet cafe and materials. Hours of operation: Monday to Saturday 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. / Closed on Sundays and Holidays

Fishermen usually appear in each major settlement around 2-3pm with their daily catch. Fresh fish right out the ocean. This is paradise to me.

There is a short 5 minute ferry ride separating North Eleuthera from Harbour Island. Harbour Island is in the background of this photo.

I had lunch and toured the property of The Cove Eleuthera. This property is one of the few high end/luxury resort properties on the island.

This villa was very cozy. The owner Mr. Thomas Sands was very accommodating. In addition, the villa is located near area restaurants and the largest grocery store in Eleuthera. For local foods, try Sammy's Place which is not far from this villa. For rental inquires, please contact Ms. Chandra Sands or Mr. Thomas Sands at 242-334-2203.

I am a connoisseur of fresh seafood. No matter which Family Island I visit, I am always drawn to the local fish markets and conch stands.
