You would think that things that would've stayed the same, have changed. And some of the things that you think that would've changed, have stayed the same.. That's what I thought when I had got back to NY. After a year and half of living in Milan, spent about 5 months between Hong Kong and Taiwan to see family, with brief stop overs in NY and CA, it was finally time to come home. I think I had been through like 15 flights, 8 countries, and 3 continents in the past six months.. Needless to say, I was tired. For [View Full Entry]

my dad had asked me what i wanted to do together on his days off, during my stay in hong kong. i came to realize that in the many times that i've been to hong kong in my life, i have never been to ocean park. (hong kong has 2 theme parks, ocean park, and the new disneyland. needless to say that i wasn't going to pick the latter.) i saw some awesome things at ocean park, even though for the most park it's geared towards kids. 1 of the 1st things that i saw, was the sea jelly spectacular, where [View Full Entry]

April 28th, 2008 Wong Tai Sin Temple Hong Kong really has some fascinating temples / monasteries. In the past, when I came to Hong Kong, it was all about doing the silly popular things; going to the Peak to see the city skyline, going shopping, singing karaoke. Up til now I had never bothered looking into the historical / religious side of Hong Kong. There are several temples / monasteries that are also advertised as tourist attractions. And some of them are really breathtaking. the 2 that I had visited today, were called Wong Tai Sin temple, and the Chi Lin [View Full Entry]

i'm in hong kong now!!! i'm so excited.. it's a bit strange, b.c everything has changed since I last came here, 3 years ago.. I did some fab things since I've been here.. i always make a point to stop at The Peak; b.c it never ceases to fascinate me.. The Peak is an observation deck where you can see most of the city skyline, atop 1 of the highest mountains (on HK island) It's a popular tourist spot, and it's where the madam tussaud's of HK is located. i've always loved looking @ cityscape.. in kowloon, at the pier, there's [View Full Entry]

ahh.. taiwan.. taiwan can be an interesting place to visit, a place modern but yet rich of chinese culture. i was born in taiwan, but i hadn't been back in like 8 years!! when i was a kid, up until HS, i visited taiwan & hong kong once every 2 years, to see family. i wanted to come back and see my relatives, and re-familiarize myself with the place i was born. it's a kinda sad feeling when u tell people where u're born and all u have is a faint memory of it from years ago. my family members all [View Full Entry]

Ciao, Milano Europe » Italy » Lombardy » Milan
..I'll miss you, Milano.. I'd been living in Milan for almost year and half, and it was time to say goodbye. I had first come to Italy back in 2004, for 3 weeks. I had made stop overs in Como, Venice, Rome, Milan, Florence and several smaller cities in tuscany. I was only in Milan for a day.. but who knew that i would come to live here..? It's a bit strange to think how I felt about the place the 1st time I went there.. and now after everything that's happened.. At first to barely have an impression of [View Full Entry]

I love vienna.. I didn't think I would, but I think it's a very underrated place. I've been fortunate enough to have been to vienna twice, the first time was to visit my friend stephanie. I wanted to visit her in austria, and vienna seemed like a convenient place to meet up. When we had went, we went to go see 2 museums in vienna: the kunsthistoriches, and the belvedere. the kunsthistoriches is the historical art museum, while I wanted to go to the belvedere to see the gustav klimt exhibit. (i LOVE gustav klimt) I remember the kunsthistoriches had some [View Full Entry]

..La Serenissima.. "The Most Serene".... Generally speaking Venice is not that serene, most of the time completely packed ear to ear with tourists. The only time really when Venice is serene.. is probably at night.. I've been to Venice probably 4xs in my life, and I've never been bored of it. (so far) Italians will recommend that you find a hotel on the mainland (in venezia mestre), and not in the city of venice, b.c it's always cheaper. But I absolutely love to ride the waterbuses up and down the grand canal at night.. which you'd probably wouldnt be able [View Full Entry]
