Well I’ve made it to Ethiopia. It’s the year 2000 and we’re in the fifth month of their unique 13 month year. If the Ethiopian calendar wasn’t confusing enough they also have their own clock. It’s 7am and we’ve just had lunch. The sun rises at midnight and sets at midday. They kindly also have 78 national languages. I’m living with Mark in the capital, Addis Ababa, and teaching every day. Being the loving brother he is, he’s made me sleep on the floor behind his tv for the last month, with a large square of polystyrene acting as my mattress and the barricade to keep the cockroaches in the kitchen.
