Well folks, if anyone is reading this then there will be a temporary pause to this blog as I am sick of getting virus on to my camera card every time I plug it into a PC to upload photos, three in three days on three cameras. Hopefully I will resume when a secure connection can be found. Travel in India is still happening and a real eye opener for me. We are headed south now away from the cooler mountains and into the stifling plains and then the Desert areas.... read more

After a days very tiring travel, 330 kms but 9hrs travel from Solan to Manali after a average day from Rishikesh to Solan we are having a couple of days break in Manali before the altitude stages start, travelling and sleeping above 3500 metres, will be a test on the old body. Safely made it to Bangkok in middle of night, Got a cheap ride from airport back to airport as driver could not find hotel. Hopefully this as third and final problem as leaving Auckland got hauled before Airport Security twice, what a bother. Spend the day doing touist things, and mellowing out.... read more

A week and a half to wait till my belated OE eventuates. Am writing this as excitement builds for a likely-lads trip with three others to India touring the North Western parts on Enfield motorcycles. Am feeling a bit like a pincuishion at the mo but no lasting effects except the foaming at the mouth from rabies shots, but wait ... that´s my normal state according to my workmates whom I shall miss distantly, or is that - from a distance. I hope more people than just my family will read this, my first venture onto the ´net. Once in India I will be relying on Internet Cafes for updates as we are travelling light.... read more
