Was there evidence of the earthquake? I saw pictures of rescues just today.

I remember Emma's account of the fairy chimneys and her pictures very, very well. She did buy a rug which is stored in our cedar closet for her. Somewhere near Cappadocia, she visited a home along the sea (is it Adriatic) that was reputed to be where the Virgin Mary lived until the Assumption. I thought that was really interesting too. The balloons are lovely. There were none in Emma's pictures, but she was there in the summer, and the weather clearly was much different. Sounds like a wonderful adventure.

Moscow METRO
As a long-time stamp collector, the USSR displayed many of their subways on very large commemorative stamps. They have to have the most beautiful and ornate subways in the world. Certainly we don't have any subways like this in the USA.

They let you go in jeans
That cannot be. I like Ernest's pictures of everything but the people, but then again, the people are not that interesting, are they -- except for the the one that counts who looks lovely as always. It's amazing the revolution did not occur sooner. I guess all of this opulence was hidden away. Thanks for doing all of the blogging. Fascinating stuff.

Does it still work: Wow -- it is very cool. One of my favorite things along with the fountains.
