Blog Good entry Robyn. It is nice to hear news from the old little El Salvador and its great people. Hopefully you have a good time visiting your friends and family in The US. I have been looking for the English word for Chipilin and cant find any translation also I have been looking for the English word for Loroco and nothing. I am developing a garden in my back yard and there are lots of plants I dont know the Spanish translation. I am still growing them anyway, funny uh. Well have a good day muchisima suerte en todas tus actividades.
Just another comment I found funny how you said you are not "Huevona" I say Funny because you know the "gender" thing. I also find it funny because it could be a compliment for some kids I know (Crazy cultural differences I guess). Nice to hear from you
WOW! Love the journal and the pictures. Miss you much. Don't think i could live with your "critters" everywhere! Hugs and kisses and good wishes in your works. ougramma
hi, tracy from the crazy Summer artists delegation Hi Robin,
Wondering if there are any new entries in your blog. Can only find the last one as Aug 30. We are always thinking of you guys out there in Ciudad Romero. Fond memories and many hopes for all of you present in your work and lives. We are having a fund raiser dinner next week to help the art program - hope it helps!
Very interested Art Corp and what you are doing. Keep up the great work. I tell so many people about you and your student's work.
Take care.
Tracy

Los Torogozes de Morazan I said Santiago for some reason but his name is actually Sebastian. I have one of their CD from the 80's in MP3 format. I listen to it all the time :)
Perquin Thank you for posting the pictures it is nice to see the winter festival still going year after year in perquin. Feria food looks YUMMMY made me want a Elote Loco. I see Santiago Torogos doesn't change still looking young. I hear Rufina Amaya the only survivor of El Mozote died a year ago from a Heart desease. That was sad. Please write more whenever you find a chance. It is always nice to read about your adventures in El Salvador, Please be safe. Adios
Yes! I agree with Sarahlah on so many levels. As someone who reads your blog religiously, I can honestly say that I'm moved and impacted by your stories of Salvador. I frequently forward your entries to friends and family whom I think would appreciate your illuminations.
And though we're many miles apart, I hope you know that it goes without saying that I miss and love you in equal amounts. Good friendships don't slip away, they just dance effortlessly between the back and foregrounds, molding and shaping into something new as we grow -- but always retaining warmth and love, regardless of the relationship's physical prominence in our every day lives. You're one of those rare people who are constantly changing and growing in mind, heart, and soul, but whom you could pick your friendship up with right where you last left off and know that the love is the same; that your friendship is just as viable. I look forward to when you're home for longer than a couple days so we may spend some face time with each other, but in the meantime I'm so proud of you and feel extremely comforted knowing that you're out there doing some of the best work imaginable. Continue on this journey with pride and with the knowledge that your real friends are always here for you, no matter the miles.
All my love,
Krissy

Keep Bloging Very good argument, and really nice to read your blog with such of word choice. I like how you say "UnitedStatians" And "Solidarity" That is a word that many of my current friends never even hear before. Hopefully you have enriched your Spanish vocabulary as well. Please keep writen more, drink some corn atole for me and stay dry Salu :)
This really resonated with me. Culture shock IS contiuous, and you summed up those feelings so articulately. Reading your blog re-opens my eyes to alot of things I saw when I was traveling....I admire you so much for making a difference, even when it's difficult.
did u feel like an alien???? I tried reading all of your blog but I couldn't help buy stop to re-read certain sections and that just messed with my flow. Well it seems to me that you felt like you were in another world when in fact you were just in El Salvador. I don't really wan't to understand some of your comments but hey you felt weird in a "strange country". If youre lucky enough to travel back to my homeland please leave your sarcasm at home...(i hope i spelled that correctly)
Home is where the heart is. Hi Robyn. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us. I hope you have a good time back with your family in the States. And I ensure you lots of people back in the community of Ciudad Romero see you as one of their sister and they will miss you a ton.
I know that because I know how little Salvadorean hearts are. Hopefully you find nice and relaxing time in CA. Write a little bit more if you have a chance. Ohhh God you are here and I forgot to ask you to bring me the recipe for Empanadas de Platano, I havent had those in years and when I as was in El Salvador I never learned how to make them Oh well. Have a fun day Salu.
By the way are you going back?
what a profound experience you are having. I couldn't imagine a world where more people have had a such an experience. The peace that would exist? and the compulsion to live sustainably simple.
Hi Again O.k So I know I wont get my Kolashampan from you but that will be not reason for not write a comment here wishing you the best on what you are doing there with my people.
I kind of got addicted to this travel blogs and I keep coming to see if you had added more from your experience there.
I had read some of your early blogs and I saw you were in South America also which brough memories again when I read your experience in Cusco Peru.
Peru is the only country I have been in South America and I had a great time.
Anyway this comment suppost to be to wish you good luck and thank you for giving some of your time to people who really need help. Me being from El Salvador feels like I should be there too doing something but I cant do nothing other than thank you. Please be safe and have a Charamusca for me which I havent had neither in like 10 years.
Be Safe and Salu. :)
Yo! Wud Up Sipotilla. I had read your blog and It made me feel like write you something here. I am from El Salvador but after finishing college in Universidad Nacional de El Salvador in San Salvador I moved to Michigan, USA. that was in 1999.
I have lots of great memories from the El Salvadorean country side and reading your blog you bring back these memories. So Please write more. Sorry to hear your MP3 player got lost. try puting an Antenna on a tree so you can listen Radio La Femenina 102.5 fm. I remember it as a good station but its been almost 10 years so I dont know if still good.
Please write more :) Salu and be safe.
I am currently in Central America to work on a project with ArtCorps (www.artcorp.org) in El Salvador. The rest I can only try to explain.
Whenever I'm traveling, it's always nice to take a step back and think, "Is there anything else I'd rather be doing right now? Working? Sleeping? Wearing clean clothes? Eating familiar food? Staring at a blank wall?" The answer is always no (except maybe when it comes to sleeping and pizza--then the answer might be yes). Thus, I keep a journal.
