It's been a crazy couple of weeks, with probably too much to fit in to one blog, so sorry if i race through a bit... Firstly after my night in Wellington I headed north-west to Wanganui where my friend Karthick lives and then we drove east to Taupo and got caught in the craziest snowstorm along the way. Two feet deep snow in places, sky as dark as night and visibility of perhaps about 30 - 40 metres. Well it's been a bit of a slower couple of months lately so there hasn't been too much to write about besides exams, and noone wants to hear about that; though I think i've finally got enough to fill a blog with now. Also why did England have to lose at rugby? Even the shopkeeper at my local store greeted me by asking if I could remind him the score of the game, and then of course didn't hear and wanted me to repeat it. Ah finally some stuff to talk about! I've had my first really busy, and quite expensive week, ending in one of the things i've been dieing to do in NZ - skydiving. That was pretty much the most exciting bit for me so sorry if i rush head to that... So first blog in quite a while i think this one. It's been a great few weeks, have been on two great trips (Longbeach and Christchurch) and am also actually loving my lectures in general, one of our lecturers (the one teaching me 'Music in Art') could actually be a stand-up comedian, he manages to wring a joke every minute out of music's representation in victorian portrait art - no easy feat. Nothing like a painfully bad pun on the NZ weather to start a blog entry. As you've guessed its wet here, and so there's been no chances to go to the beach, surf or any of that stuff lately. Still we did go to a big rugby game yesterday, which was mental but pretty good. So it's been a while since I've written another blog, though that does mean I have a little more to write about than dropping barbeque lids and my shorts. It's been a crazy couple of weeks, there's something to do every night - events for different nationalities, 'Canadian night', 'Kiwi night' etc and whatever other nights they can come up with for an excuse to go out and drink lots. I've been here about four days now and am starting to settle in. This is mostly thanks to the fact everyone you meet wants to know how you are and what you're doing today - very, very friendly. It's a complete mixture of cultures here, i'm sharing my house with a New Zealander called Niral, an American called Dan, a Swedish girl called Hannah and a German girl called Lilly.
