Sorry everyone! I haven't been updating my blog as much as I'd like to be however I have been extremely busy as you can imagine. Classes started on the 29th and went fairly well. My Japanese class is extremely fast paced but luckily I think that the Rosetta Stone software that my mom got me gave me a good head start and should help my performance in the class. The history class is...well a history class and much of the information I already know from my previous Japanese history class but it's a nice refresher none the less. It has been raining here the past few days. Nothing too serious, but enough to be annoying, so I bought a kasa (umbrella) and will hopefully get some use out of it. Sorry everyone for not updating this yesterday! I was pretty busy and we had the whole day off. Anyways, on the 23rd I woke up at about 5:45 am and was getting ready for the morning when all the sudden everything started moving. It was an extremely weird sensation and confused I thought it was turbulence. Then, I remembered that I was in a building and not a plane anymore. My roommate Erik woke up and calmly asked, "Is this an earthquake?" I replied just as calmly, "I think so..." It didn't last very long and afterwards everything was just kind of creaking. Greetings all! Photos are available here I am finally in Japan! My trip officially started when my mom took me to the airport at 3:15am MST 7/21/10. After parking on a level of the garage that apparently has no entrances into the airport and nothing but a creepy alley of a hallway to walk through to get inside. Waiting at the United Airlines desk until they opened was, well it was waiting. I got through security and met up with my travel buddy Lindsay for the first time. We got aboard the train and made it to our concourse. Everything was still pretty quiet so I wasn't able to exchange my money in Denver.
