Fires
Just a reminder now that your home - Remember Cindy, turn off the gas after cooking your meals and try not to poison anyone with dangerous and super explosive gas. Just a reminder from your friend Ranger Rick.

astounding pictures!!
The blue of Lago Sucia is my absolute favorite color; I love to see that glacial flour reflecting light! Your Christmas Sunrise is an absolutely amazing photograph, and I'm sure it was very much more so in real life. Your food does sound great, but please tell me that you didn't have tasty "sweats" in a local bakery. That ranks right up there w/ raw monkey liver! El ir de excursión de la caja fuerte y visiónes hermosas. (That's supposed to be translated as "Safe hiking and beautiful views" from my sub-par Spanish.)

True Love
Thank God for the beautiful views. There is a reward for 50 mile winds and rain. If you can survive 24 hours in the tent in bad weather you can survive 24 years of marriage. Love and miss you lots. Have fun and keep writing.

Once again thanks for letting us live vicariously
Hi, Andrew and Cindy, Felices Fiestas!! Continuing to enjoy your sojourn, and your pictures bring it all to life. I have fallen in love with four of your photos--Xmas Eve Feast (one to keep for the ages attesting to your most unique Christmas), Swirl in Ice, 1 postive of the rain, and Xmas Sunrise (could make one cry it is so-o-o beautiful.) Be well, be safe, Love, Cheryl

nice pics!
Hey guys! these pictures are amazing. I know its always a little stinky when the weather forgets that you're on vacation and does whatever it wants, but crummy situations make for great stories :) Happy Holidays, hope I get to see you soon! (and of course a special shoutout to the rest of the Casazza crew. Merry Christmas!) Love, Ayelet

So much to love about this post
I'm not sure where to begin. This was so thoroughly entertaining. Andrew battling gale force winds while attempting to build a fortress of solitude. Landmarks that translate to "Dirty Lake", "Baby Dirty Lake", and "Brown/African-American Dog". A wonderfully creative take on "The Grinch that Stole our Souls in Poincenot". You must have seriously read my mind about the Christmas CD. In all seriously- I'm mailing you guys a multimedia DVD Egbert Christmas extravaganza, straight outta South Central Salt Lake. It is the new hotness. On a slight side note- isn't it crazy how Americanized Christmas has infiltrated Latin America? For that very reason, I will also be sending you a CD compilation of what Latin Christmas is all about. Mexican posadas, singing Chipmunks, and a Cumbia about Rudolph (aka Andrew), the pinche huevon reindeer. (Note- Andrew- do not go around repeating that last sentence) Spanish lesson 2- When eating at any of these fine establishments, be sure to say "Wow, que rico/ que delicioso/ que sabroso!" Also- when leaving inns or people you met who were very nice, say "Gracias, fue un placer." That goes a long way. We send you much love. Please keep up the endlessly entertaining posts.

Argentina winds
It sounds like all you do is consume meat and wine with a little walking in between. I can't believe you are so far away. It sounds like the weather is part of the show in Patagonia. Would you have a better chance of sun if you went in February or March? Carolyn

Ah, emasculation
Don't worry Andrew- until Archie manages to learn the mother tongue, he too will be at the mercy of people who try to talk to him in rapid fire Spanish, while he pretends to be asleep or texting since he doesn't understand what they are saying. Usually, this is followed by loud Latin laughter and asking me personal questions about him. Basically- when you think Latin people might be talking about you in Spanish, they probably are. Learn Spanish quickly, lest you be mocked and emasculated further. Here's a good phrase to learn- "Ah, de veras?" and look like you are interested in what someone is saying. It means, "Ah, really?" and is a great way to act like you understand when you really don't.
