Easter Pictures North America » United States » Arizona By tallgirlstales April 11th 2007 RobinHere are some pictures from the Egg Scramble that they hold up at our community center. There must have been 500 kids! We stayed all morning and the kids had a blast....they had the egg scramble, bounce houses, other inflateables, carnival games and other stuff. The weather was beautiful too. We went to my sister's for Easter dinner. She breeds King Charles Cavalier spaniels and had a recent litter...the boys were in heaven playing with all of those puppies. No, I'm NOT getting one!

The kids had a great time, afterwards we took them to the super deluxe ball pit upstairs where they went crazy pelting each other with plastic balls and such. Enjoy the pics.
... read moreis my little baby FIVE already! Can you all believe it??? We had a great party for him yesterday at The Little Gym. The kids really enjoyed it (well, except for the one who puked at the end) and I really enjoyed the ease of having the party NOT at my house. Here are lots of pictures. Enjoy!
... read moreWhy you ask? Well its because my friend's Dad is visiting and he stopped for a day in LA before he got here. So, why does this have me excited? Because I got 3 big boxes of Hot Tamales!!!!!! Woo hoo!!!!! Yummy! Here's a random and not comprehensive list of things that I can't get here that I long for occasionally (and that explain my very expensive trips to Target when I do visit home): - Hot Tamales - Good and Plenty - Starbursts - Sour Skittles (say the kids) - Good Salsa - Taco Bell - Baked BBQ Lays - Doritos that taste like doritos (we get the Aussie version here, SO not the same) - Deli Smoked Turkey - Wine that is affordable (100% duty here) - Decent deoderant - Almay cosmetics - Prescriptives
... read moreHi Everyone, the boys and I went down to Krabi in the middle of October. I've been meaning to post some pictures but have been a little busy with other stuff. We spent a few days doing the beach thing and we also spent a day going elephant trekking which was fun. Enjoy!
... read moreHere are a couple of pictures from the compound wide Halloween party that my friend and I engineered. The western kids were thrilled as Halloween is really not celebrated here, and our Thai neighbors got a good idea of what a casual, American block party is all about. C. actually had a very cool Batman costume, but he hid it because he found J's old power ranger costume and he wanted to wear that instead. While there are many Thai pumpkins around, they don't lend themselves well to carving.....so our Jack O Lantern was made out of a watermelon!
... read moreWell, the kiddos went back to school today. J. is in year 5 (that's 4th grade to you Americans) and C. is in Kindergarten2 (preschool in USA speak). They were rather bummed out that their summer holidays had come to an end. J. has had a wonderful unstructured summer playing with the other boys in the compound....we have a whole tribe of 8-12 year old boys in this place. They've been riding bikes, playing lots of video games, and playing lots of tag and hide and seek...all day, every day. They were also pretty good about letting C. tag along after them. Sadly, all good things must come to an end, or at least be put off until the weekend. Enjoy the pics!
... read moreThe boys and I went down to Phuket to enjoy some more time at the beach. The highlight of our trip was joining a kayaking trip to Phang Nga Bay. The tour operator Andaman Sea Kayak picked us up from our hotel, drove us to the pier (about an hour) and we joined the rest of the group (about 20 people) on the boat. They motored out to Phang Nga Bay, and the boys were very interested in the dozens of HUGE jellyfish that we saw on the boat ride. They looked about 12-18 inches across! Once we got out to the first stop, the boys and I got onto our sea kayak which was steered by our guide. He paddled us through a tunnel in the island (that are only accessible during low tide) to

It was SO cold compared to Thailand....probably in the 50's and we have definitely acclimated to the tropical heat. It also rained most of the weekend. Brrrr. We saw some of the major sites: Sony Center (which did NOT have any video games to play with BTW), Pokemon Museum (much to the boys' delight), Ginza (the high end shopping district), the HUGE electronics stores, the Asakusa shrines (a must see and definitely my favorite part of the trip), and we spent lots of time on the subway getting from here to there. Here are some pics:
