Sarah...you gave little Stephany an amazing Christmas gift....but she gave an even better one to you. What a truly special gift to receive....knowing that you have made such a huge impact on someone's life. Years from now when someone asks you to think of the best Christmas gift you ever received.....I think this one will be right up at the top! Congrats on the new job...sounds like its going very well. All the best to you.
we'll they have to sharpen pencils? Hey S'Wills... Congrats on the new opp! You're seriously like a pinball machine bounce from one job to the next... but sounds like you've got a keep with this one!!! Truly happy for ya!
CONGRATULATIONS! heyyyy we dont get to talk too much as it is and now u have gone and got a new job! lol
I am soo happy for you sarah. The position sounds like a lot of work but a lot of great opportunities for learning. I think it is a great fit for you. I am also so relieved that the whole theatre debaucle worked out. I know how stressful working with complete fools can be!
Anyway hopefully we will talk soon... when Krista gets her new house, we should have an old school slumber party!
Pepsi, anyone?
Hi Sarah - so sorry the nanny job didn't work out!! It's really hard when you and the parents don't see eye-to-eye. (I'm just about to go through the nanny hunt myself...not looking forward to that one!) Here's hoping you can find something fast and good paying. :o) And I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying your dance classes - that must be so fun to watch the little ones boogie. (((hugs)))
Hi Sarah-i didn't realize that the nanny job didn't work out....sure sounds like you made the right decision in leaving though. When child rearing values don't mesh.....disaster! Good luck with your job search. I'm sure something will come through soon. In the meantime, glad to hear you're enjoying all of your other activities. Glad that your friends are safe in Honduras..the media showed some pretty ugly stuff happening there. Thanks for keeping in touch. Hope to see you soon.
Congrats!!! Well to the land of the car owners. Now the fun starts, paying for gas, new tires, repairs, etc. etc. It's not all bad though, now you can go where you want, when you want. Anyway, have fun with your new toy. Be safe and hope to see you and the rest of your family soon. Love you.
Uncle Wayne
poniac buddies! yee haw! that is so exciting!!
not to mention that my first car (still driving it) is a '98 Poniac in a "dirty" red colour! not quite a hunk magnet like your Rosie, but it gets me places!!
congrats skillett!!
Highly cool! Sarah, so thrilled that you have a new addition to the family (of cars of course). I remember my first car - also red - a maverick - oversize wheels on the back. Oh those were the days. Congrats Sarah and enjoy!!!! Elaine and fam
Sarah....congratulations..a new car...pretty hot looking too....looks like a good "hunk" magnet to me! (that's what us old folks used to call hot guys in the old days!!). I sent you a note with your last entry but I think my computer ate it as I was getting some strange messages back. thanks for the update on your life after Honduras. Sounds like you have a lot going on...but all stuff you love to do....that's great! Owning your first car is the official initiation into adulthood....welcome!!.....but don't ever stop having fun...think young even when you're 92! All the best to you Sarah....hope we get a chance to see each other some time soon.
YOU GOT IT, PONTIAC Many years of happy and safe motoring, Sarah. May Rosie continue to go-sie.
Love, now and always,
DAD XXX OOO
P.S. Have I mentioned it's great to have you home.
Enjoyed your blog I am a teacher in San Diego, CA and I am about to move to Tela, Honduras to teach for a year. I have been reading your blog for the last few months. I enjoyed reading about your experiences. I hope I have as great a time as you! Good luck on your future endeavors.
It's time to return!! Hey Sarah,
I am so proud of all of the things you have accomplished this year and so happy that you brought us along for the ride. What an adventure you had, it will be so fun for you to read back over all the enteries you made and reflect on them. I know you are changed forever by your experiences over the last year, but everything happens for a reason and now you await your future to see what the next adventure will be. I can't wait to see you and hear all about it. Cheers and welcome home!!!
Sarah..your last entry brought tears to my eyes. I know that you have changed my life in many small ways, just by the privilege of sharing in your experiences through your blog entries. You are truly a gifted and talented young woman. I know that life will bring you much success and happiness...simply because you appreciate life for all the right reasons. Thanks for letting me into your world over the past year. I am truly grateful. All the best to you....
Wow - you're almost home! Huge (((hugs))) Sarah - I can't believe you'll be back in Canada in only 3 more days. Congratulations on finishing your year abroad...what an experience. Good luck packing and enjoy the trip home!
Remember around this time last year when it was a few sleeps before you left and you didn't feel ready? We've come full circle! :]
I hate all goodbyes. They're just not fun because they mean the end of something...but they also mean the beginning of something else!
Enjoy your final three days! <3
Sounds like you had a lovely party with your students and I love the shirts.
Also, "boyfriend of the meese" - at first I was trying to figure out how your boyfriend related to Centauri pompoms with antlers. Then I said it outloud and understood.
It started with a year teaching in Honduras. Then it was home to the COLD winter of Canada to try and pay off some debts, followed by sailing the seas with Norwegian Cruise Lines, working as a youth counsellor.
Next it was back to Honduras, teaching in a school in Tegucigalpa!
Now, I am home in Canada but continue traveling.
Thanks for joining me on my journey!
