I've also lost your email address, by the way, so may I have it again, please? Actually, the Tsavo lions killed nearly 100 people, not all railway workers though. Er. I liked this entry a lot. And 'misty acacia' looks wonderful. I so, so need to see Africa now.....although I will take your advice about the camping! More later, I still have a lot of entries to see. Niru |

| 15th September 2006 Nicole | I think I've seen the film... - From: He who praises rain has been rained on - Swahili proverb Hey Susie! Rain just forwarded me your blog url for the first time so I've got a lot of catching up to do. It looks and sounds like you're having some great adventures. Well... things are just as adventurous here in White City, why last week, I dared to try the pasta instead of my usual pizza order in the canteen and I have to say, it turned out 'OK'. :-) I think I saw the film you're referring to here on BBC Four - I have to say, though it sounds like he used some dubious methods for entry, it's difficult to see this film and not think that something has gone wrong somewhere along the way. If even some of the picture he's captured of the situation is even remotely right, it's quite sad. Definitely interesting viewing though. I'll look through your other entries - saw the pics in your bikini and you look fabulous!!! (nice tea cup too :-) Take care and travel safe, Nicole xx |

| 17th May 2006 Brett | Enna kelvigal irunthithu? - From: Rebel with a Cause Brett/Mark/lila - imagine how knackered we were after each visit to a school. Now imagine doing that in 38 degree heat and with them all jabbering away in Tamil. Like when I went to Ealing with Rob in the middle of last summer when the school had us in a tiny upstairs room with all the huge iron radiators turned up to 11 probably. Although I don't think they spoke Tamil, in fact if I remember correctly, the blackboard had evidence of a previous lesson teaching the five year olds how to write complaining letters to the Daily Mail about shoddy service and the declining moral standards of the BBC. I copied the notes down needless to say... Glad you are enjoying the Tamil school experience, the kids may get their chance when all our jobs are outsourced to Calcutta. Brett/Mark/Sam - has history 2 taken off yet? That particular porker has still to be fitted with wings let alone find its way to a runway! |

Enjoy it htough, other than the roaches it's full of sex, death, sewage and gluttony, those insects live one hell of a life. Great blog Susie - keep it up, I look forward to the novelisation and inevitable film adaptation. You're making it sound too redolent and enticing, we're all really fed up over here and more than willing to disconnect the P drive and head off Eastwards with our Phillips screwdrivers and our torches. Soon Pondicherry will be the next Provence and farmhouses all over India will be converted into middle class guest houses. |
