Right Where You're Supposed To Be!! So proud of you, chica! First year is always a whirlwind BUT when you do it someplace that allows you to explore and grow inside and OUTside of the classroom, it has a tendency to be pretty invigorating! Plus, if you ever stop learning as much as your students, you may as well retire. I still learn way more from my students than they do from me, I\'m sure of it! I\'m sure you are doing amazingly well--the kids are lucky to have you! Gotta scoot--bell just rang here so I\'m off! Hugs to you!!
Wow! Excellent Reading. It sounds like you have found the right combination of passion and challenge. Congratulations Courtney. Hope to see you at Christmas.

Where are you struttin' now? Good afternoon, I decided to google you on googe...lol.
Hope all is going well for you and I am doing okay.
My father-inlaw passed away August 30, I got home just in time to be there for his passing on the the new life.

Hi Courtney,
I read ur article and it is very interesting. I would be grateful if u could give me some more information about life and safety at Ebametoong because I plan to work there as an elementary teacher this fall.
Hanging with the 'kids'... Hey...I know some pretty cool people that are 10-12 years MY junior, too!!! lol Only, now their in their 20s and off exploring the world....makin' me feel old!! Big hugs!!
Proud to know you Hi Courtney
You continue to amaze me with all you do with your life. You are an inspiritation to me to get more real. I am also very uneasy with how we (Canada) have treated our brothers and sisters.
Take care
Lori
hmm? what to title this? how bout untitled Courtney,
That was beautiful to read. Thanks so much. You write beautifully about how little you know. I felt like that sometimes when our teacher would talk to us about seperate issues and the feelings in quebec, how little i know. And as an urban fair skinned Métis and Ojibway girl, i know just how little i know about reserves and communities up north.
You started with a beautiful explanation of why some things are the way they are, and what we should know. And it is true, we are Canadians, but because Canada is so huge geographically, it is very easy in our lives not to know what life is like for northerners, southerners, easterners, westerners, or wherever we call home compared to someone else. thanks for taking that step and thanks for sharing with us.
" isnt it great to be in fort hope on canada day?" what a lovely sentiment and i am sure it will only get better.
thanks courtney:)
Digging Deeper Hey there, chica! I was so happy to hear of this new chapter in your adventures. It is something I have often thought about doing myself but wonder how to fit in the Mateo factor. It is interesting, and always sobering, to see that no matter the country in this world, Aboriginal peoples have been relegated to the margins and are plunged into deplorable conditions. I look forward to reading your updates and promise to 'develop my understanding' along side you!!
Life's experiences while traveling Hello Courtney, i came upon your blog and found you had a very interesting story to tell regarding your personal experiences in Ghana. Traveling abroad most always brings positives experiences especially with local groups and individuals. I enjoyed your story as it made me feel as if i was there with you. I think no travel experience is complete without sharing with local children not to mention all the friends one may meet along the way. Thank you for sharing your travel experiences with me this day. bob
That sounds so amazing courtney!
I wish i could goo to africa and visit you! I'm glad your mom got to, that would have been fun!
I can't wait til you get home though so we can play some boggle and monopoly and some outdoors gamesss :) BOOOYAA.
I got your letter today and that was very exiting.
Talk to you soon!
xo,
Kaela
Perspective... Though I know that you feel at the midway point of your adventure, years from now you will look back and think, "Wow, that was the beginning of it all!" Once you get it in your blood, it DOESN'T go away, even if your feet aren't moving, it is still in there....
I'm proud of you, girl.
What a big girl! I can't believe the little girl I used to babysit is out doing such amazing things! How time flies. Hope you and Mum have a ton of fun. Keep with the updates my dear, you are an inspiration!
ps love the hair, braided or medusa style!
love Shauna
How Exciting Courtney, I'm really enjoying your blog. Is this the same agenda your sticking to when Mom visits!!!!!!!! You must be your father's daughter. Nothing in your travels reminds me of your Mom at all. Have a great time and stay safe.
it looks so nice and warm! Toronto and Ottawa are currently ice rinks. You're lucky -you're missing the ridicule from a Sens 7-game losing streak (which finally ended last night). I love the dress. Have fun with Nathalie 'eh!
sweeeet awesome pictures! the one from the plane is especially cool.
love the commentary (slightly dilapidated net...) and what! renee's fiancee? wasn't she saying it was just a "someone" back in montreal?! nuts.
anyhow, it sounds like you're having a grand time and (not) working hard at work...!
Wow! Hey Courtney--
I had no idea you were in a co-op program... this is SO cool! I can't believe you're on the other side of the world! I know it's been a while since we've chatted, but I'll make sure to keep checking your blog so that I can stay updated with where you are. Take care of yourself down there!! :) xo

Hey Court! Too bad I got disconnected on MSN, gotta catch up soon! Sounds like you're doing an awesome job settling in, the Ghanaians will love you cause they are all over friendly people. I remember the shock coming into Accra from quiet little Burkina, the traffic is beastly! You should check in with Robbie, he did an internship in Wa. Sounds like you learned your taxi lesson fast.
Big hugs from Bolivia

P.S. I'm going home for Xmas! Booya!
bargaining hey glad all is going well so far. its excellant that you will get to go to the other extreme of the country so soon. reading about your bargaining i remembered, and oh i hate bargaining, cabs in accra, since youll spend so much time bargaining cabs in accra, i figured out after a few months and wish i knew this earllier to just get in and when you get where youre going hand them the amount. of course this is after a few months when you KNOW the prices. they are actually almost completely standard. oh lord, the time that saved me! also a good Twi book at Legon Uni, its red and something like- twi for the non twi speaker. so good. also that goes hand in hand with getting good prices!
