I've never realized how "Vancouver" Vancouver International Airport was until I visited airports elsewhere in the world. Glass, wood, native carvings...if you wander around Vancouver for a few hours that's the impression you get. The downtown core glitters with tall, glass windows from the ever-rising condos surrounding the business district. Wood - well trees are everywhere, on the mountains, in the parks, so this is obvious. And native art is ever present (especially in the form of soapstone souvenirs in Gastown). So, I guess it was decided this should be mirrored in the airport. Anyway, I am off-track already and it's the first paragraph. I've been going to Vancouver's airport since before I could walk.
