i completely feel you i searched the site for ideas about where to stay in delhi and saw your entry! That is EXACTLY how my friends and I feel.
Seriously, cows think they are pedestrians and bicycle riders think they are 4-wheel SUVS! It takes me a good 10 minutes to get the nerve to cross streets over here...but nonetheless, I am completely relishing the experience. Its been heaps of fun, and a great realization of how fortunate we are to be living the western life!
side note though...any recos for places to stay in delhi??? if so, please let me know: caroline_yacu@yahoo.com. if not....safe safe travels and best of luck to you!
Wellcome back! I was hoping for a London blog, but since your flight for TO will be leaving shortlyI will add my final comments now.
Thanks for letting us share in your amazing Southeast Asia Journey!Your blogs have been delightful, informative, inspiring, (sometimes worrying)etc. etc. It has been lots of fun keeping up with your wonderful adventures - just like following two characters in a book - and even better than OLN! We are very excited to be seeing you two in person soon- tonight in fact .
Have a great trip back!
Mom.
Drawing to a close... To quote a song from few years back, "Every new beginning comes from some other new beginnings end". While this journery of a life time draws to a close, your experiences will travel with you for a lifetime and new ones will come from it. Even though you have travelled around the world and have been introduced to so many different cultures, it was evident that there are people all over the world who are willing to offer a helping hand no matter where you go.
India, sounds like a very complex country which is full of opposing images and values...hopefully this will give you guys a greater appreciation of how wonderful our country is and that we are fortunate to live in Canada. Have a great time in London and we look forward to seeing you on Monday.
ttyl
cool cool India Wow! India sounds so different and it sounds like you guys had quite an experience there!!! I cant believ your trip is winding down and your FINALLy going to LONDON! That should be fun, but different!! iam tres tres excited for Monday!!!!!!!!!!
when sand gets in your eyes Well your recent desert pics sure make you appear to be seasoned travellers and at home wherever you are. Very amazing photos. Sara is looking very Audrey Hepburnish with her wrap and shades. Having only slept under the stars up at Sauble beach, I can only hazard a guess at how magnificient it must have felt to be out in the desert gazing at the Indian sky waiting for various creepy crawleys to come nibbling or slithering. Did I mention that I cannot believe I can finally say "they'll be home in 6 DAYS!" yeah for us, back to realitiy(and family and friends) for you. Enjoy and treasure this last week of you journey. Love mom and the G-ville clan
Camel Jockies I hope you took some great pictures...the whole desert trip really sounds incredible. Sleeping under the stars in some desert with no one else around for miles seems so amazing...so primitive. It sounds like some of the people you have meet are really nice and actually want to be of service. Look forward to the next update.
Indian Wedding Even better than a movie - a real Indian wedding -sounds like a lot of fun and all of the food you can eat - even better. Enjoy Jaipur and your last few weeks in India.
mom
where has the time gone I can not believe that it is almost over; what am I going to do with my evenings - they will definitely not be cultural, informative and entertaining as they are now with your travelblogs. Thank you for showing us another part of the world and the many, many interesting journeys, places that you stay in and people that you have come across. Enjoy India ... stay away from the questionable bottled water! Hopefully you will find a reasonable priced room with Air Conditioning.
Fun Fun in Bombay!! hey sarah and Evan! India looks awsome and it sounds like you two have met some cool Indians and creepers which is fun!! Glad the longgg train ride went well... and atleast now you know never to trust any one legged men selling bottled water!!! Love the pictures.
water Water, water everywhere but watch what you drink. The place sounds cool, glad you guys are well travelled now and its not intimidating. Any sign of the famous Deli-belly.
Bonjour«1 Hello from chicoutimi! After reading your blogs, I;m saving money to travel asia! You two should write a book! I`m going to print them out when I get home to Dundas! All is well here trying to learn french (again) in northern quebec. I`ll be home on the 13 of june if you are home i`d love to see you both. Happy BIRTHDAY SARAH. bye!

OH MY GOODNESS! I am really at a loss for words when I read and hear about all the "adventures" you two are encountering. I absolutely cannot fathom being on a train in that kind of heat. I guess there's no strapping yourselves to the roof this time, although from the sounds of things it quite possible could be safer than traveling with individuals lying in wait for you to nod off and slip away with your valuables. You need to sleep in shifts and keep watch. Well, it won't be too much longer and you can dip your toes into the pool while you munch on Thirsty Cactus chicken wings and ice tea and reflect on your tremendous journey.Evan, I felt very guilty eating my roast beef last night, that I didn't really even fancy, knowing you're starving for a good hunk of protein. Hope the rest of your Indain journey is all that you hope for and take care of each other. Hope you don't run out of toilet paper! Missing you, love the family in G-ville
Happy 19th Birthday Sarah!!!! Hope you made it to the Taj Mahal on your birthday Sare - a rather memorable location for your b'day indeed! We're all thinking of you right now - Les, Will and Marko are here for the weekend and we've been talking about your trip and they really look forward to seeing you and hopefully Evan this summer. We spent the evening watching a cd Leslie's sister prepared for them about their adventures in Ukraine and the whole fortuitous union with Marko and his 'coming home' with them to Ottawa. India appears to be as challenging and rewarding as the rest of your trip and we're glad you were prepared for it and are enjoying it and handling the radical culture changes as well as you are. Sounds inconceivable that Evan could turn veggie on us (regardless of the consequences) but that too is a good thing and glad youre taking it seriously.
I better sign off - Mom wants a word also - your new board is an absolute beut I'm sure you'll agree - Happy Birthday kid!
Please take care and we'll see you in a few weeks. Some lines from Tennyson;s Ulysses remind me of you two right now:
Come, my friends,
'Tis not too late to seek a newer world.
Push off, and sitting well in order smite
The sounding furrows; for my purpose holds
To sail beyond the sunset, and the baths
Of all the western stars, until I die.
It may be that the gulfs will wash us down:
It may be we shall touch the Happy Isles,
And see the great Achilles, whom we knew.

Happy 19th birthday Sarah!!! Hi Sarah and Evan - what a way to spend your birthday, enjoying a totally different lifestyle. Your trip has sounded so amazing - good kharma has been following you and hopefully will continue throughout the rest of your trip. I envy you the great food you've been having - my mouth waters every time you describe a different dish. Sounds like you're having an amazing trip, and should be a wonderful way to start off your 20th year of life. Love your commentary, you're a great writer!! Thanks for sharing all the details - it makes me wish we were travelling somewhere exotic again!
We're here in Hamilton visiting your family, and you missed a wonderful meal of thair curry salmon not that I'm trying to make you homesick or anything :) Marko's sorry he missed you but hopefully you'll see him in the summer when you're back.
ciao for now

Stunning pictures - it must be very hard to leave. Love the accommodations on the overnight ferry! I'm sure you guys could easily write a book about the many idiosynchratic means of transport you have encountered on your travels.
Take care!
Koh Tao I can now certainly appreciate why you have not had time to update your blog - way too busy doing much more exciting things! Congratulations on passing your dive course, I bet the underwater life was amazing and the pictures of these beaches and beautiful sunset are not too bad either. It sounds as if you are both well rested for the next leg of your incredible journey.
missing you guys - Take care MOM

Happy Easter! Wow - Great beach! This is where I would like to be spending my Easter - palm trees, hammocks, and beautiful sunsets. You two look great, happy and relaxed. Glad to see that you can slow the pace down a bit.
Missing You !
beautiful, tanned beach bums Wow, what a stunning picture of the two of you and the scenery isn't too bad either. You certainly do not appear to be suffering. You look healthy and well rested and I assume Sarah your foot is healing well. The grass is turning green and the daffodils ,tulips and magnolia trees are starting to bloom but I certainly do envy you. Happy Easter. Love from all of us.
Dundas Star Headline: Easter Egg Hunt Called Off til Dundas Youths Travelling Abroad Confirmed Safe from Avian Flu and Projectile Puke...full story inside.. Dudes! Quite the epic bus/van/raft ride guys - wow. And your trip into K/Rouge territory must have been a tad different. Phnom Penh looks very cool indeed..I'd prob want to hang there for awhile...gorgeous pics. Glad youre heading for the islands, where you can finally rest from travel for a bit and enjoy the Thai beaches. Mind the sun block. Did I wish you a happy Easter? Happy Easter. We'll miss you...having a moratorium on the egg hunt ths year...Mer can' get out of bed early enough anyway. Call when you can. Garf says 'bark!'. Zoey says...eeyoooowww. Fish says blub. Bye guys and take care. D.
up in the roof top Srev will fly So, there you go again totally ignoring all I've tried to teach you. Always keep all apendages and your head inside a moving vehicle, not on top. Although, since you informed us that couple of chickens tested positive for Avian flu while you were there, it was perhaps conducive to be up on the roof as opposed to sharing a bus seat with a diseased bird . Evan, being the sympathetic "puker" that you are, I'm baffled at how you survived the journey without tossing your cookies yourself. Your pictures are phenomenal, eerie and certainly give us all a glimps into an area and events that at this time we can only hope to read about, but you've been there. Quite amazing and I'm sure an unforgettable experience. As of Easter Sunday it's only 49 days until you are home, you are coming home aren't you? Take care of each other. lol mom N
Those Khmer Rouge really turned the country upside down! ...must have started with the Casino but didn't quite finish with the downtown.
Glad to see you guys are still having a wonderful time. Keep on writin' and clickin'!
