Hi John, Your place will be ok in Wheatsheaf and in Melbourne. Just thank God you don't live in Queensland which is like a disaster area now. We have had a lot of rain but the damage is minimal. We are all praying for sunny dry weather..... Cheers, Vanda. ps See you soon.

Oh my
No comment here about food safety, though I do have to admit that I feel sorry for the poor guy who sacrificed his pig. And of course the doves. We humans do some mighty weird stuff.

not CCP but Manila Film Center
Sorry but the photo with the Filipino Cultural centre isn't the place where the construction accident happened - it's in fact the Manila Film Center which is one of the buildings in the CCP (Cultural Center of the Philippines) Complex. The photo shows CCP (with a 1,600-seat main theater) and the complex (or area/precinct) has a number of buildings including a Sofitel hotel, Folk Arts Theater (an 8,000-seat performing arts venue), Coconut Palace, and the Manila Film Center (now used as a venue for Amazing Philippine Theater, a revue done by transsexuals some of who are more beautiful the Miss Universe contestants :-), and Philippine International Convention Center

From San Francisco Bridge

Mayon
It is a truly majestic mountain. It is between 15,000 and 35,000 years old and has had a very active history. There have been many eruptions that caused major damage and loss of life. Ash flows during eruptions or flows of mud and volcanic debris during monsoons are the main culprits. It would be interesting to have a look into the cauldron.

Cooking
1. I'm expecting the lessons you learn about the cuisine there to be passed on!! 2. Am all for mixing everything by hand. You get a much better result. Seriously, the 'food safety' laws here get in the way of the best possible food. Whatever happened to common sense?
