Car trip Bangalore to Kolkata & Back - A crazy self-drive REVIEWED My sincere thanks for your response and sharing your trip experience from Bangalore to Kolkata & back. It encourages amateur and occasional writer like me to write. While returning from Kolkata, I traveled thru Puri and Araku Valley to Bangalore. Both the places I stayed two days each. It was a relaxed trip. But my salute to your journey covering Kolkata to Bangalore without stay. It was amazing.
Calrity on Entry fee of Rs 200 for residents of forest cottages Just wanted to confirm One time Park Entry fee of Rs 200 is still payable for residents of forest cottages. There is no online booking for Rs 100 only safari ticket. Just wanted to confirm before booking the RS 300 ticket as I would be staying in the cottage and don't wan to pay Rs 200 extra if it is waived off.
Cottage inside Bandipur Tiger Reserve - a nightstay with natureREVIEWED We visited around two months back (first week of September, 2016) and attended multiple safari trips. Each time we had to pay Rs 100 only since we stayed in cottages. We did not buy Safari Ticket online.
Excellent Travelogue.informative with detail. Could you infrom me that a) if we take a car from Mysuru to Gangotri Forest lodge , how much is the car fare ? b)In the time of return to Mysuru Car could be arrenged from there easily ? C) To travel in Jungle how could I get a car and confirm my Jungle safari priory ? d) how much is the car charge for Jungle Safari? E) Is it possible to tavel Kabini Forest from there by car ?
Stay at Nagarhole Forest Guest House: An amazing experience Thanks for your query. Replies are as follows :
a. I drove my own car. For information on car fare you may contact any Travel Agency.
b. It is advisable to engage a car to and fro, since being a forest area car hiring facility is not available. Nearby locality (called Kutta) was further 10 Kms. I am not sure whether Car hire service would be available or not,
c. & d. To travel inside the jungle you have to avail Jungle Safari thru bus arranged by Forest Deptt. Safari is plying in the morning and afternoon time. Fee Rs 300 per person per trip. Safari was not available during our visit since it was monsoon time.
e) Kabini is around 60 Kms from Nagarhole. It is possible to visit Kabini by car from Nagarhole.
Booking Forest |Guest House - Nagarhole Tiger Reserve I mentioned details of my stay in Nagarhole Tiger Reserve Forest House in my travel blog. If interested you may kindly go thru. Thanks

This was our second visit to Karnataka Forest after staying Forest Rest House Nagarahole. No, we were not lucky enough to meet the King so far. But overall our experience was unforgettable in both the occassion.
Well spread details. Really can be used for travellers to that area. Pls throw some light on how practical is it when elders are in the group. Also availability of shoutalas on the way.
