The Most Dangerous Game
Guess I won't need to read that book now. And I'm glad to hear Siobhan was ready to hoof it. She's a trooper, eh?

The days of yore
This post reminds me of your ill-fated 64oz-a-day ruby red grapefruit juice diet. I remember the howls of acid reflux as a young teen. Somehow that coincided with the high volume creamy peanut butter regimen, too. Surprising any of us survived the late 90's. I hope to see photos someday. Xia ci jian! CP

Steller exposé, pengyou. If you go even deeper undercover, you might be able to blow the lid off the whole Tiawanese modeling underworld! Congrats! Bogus emails vary by lunar phase, but a few I've been using lately include: crimpandprimp@huskylover.org, thunderdan@thejerkeyhut.com, info@smutspot.gov, and celebrityflextape@musclemag.com. Feel free to drop a line to any of those. Hope to chat with you soon, CP

Also, I forgot to mention that I copy and pasted this message to my mom's email. Surely, my folks gushed when reading it. My dad still asks about you.

Jokes on them
slipperywhenbrent@yahoo is good. Amit, Scott, and I gave heinously inappropriate email addresses to Visa or Mastercard when they paid TCF Bank to give lame T-shirts to college frosh in exchange for their financial souls. In hindsight, I'd rather have the pizza than the measly shirt.

Send out a link!
I don't have a bogus email address, but I do use "slipperywhenbrent@yahoo.com" when there's a free-pizza-when-you-sign-up-for-this-credit-card scenario. We better get to see this commercial!

Ted, I do want to meet you. I've never been to Asia. Who could be a better guide than you? When you settle on some travel dates let me know. Also, my friends are in a band - Hsu-nami - and they're touring Taiwan in about a month. They're a rock band and the frontman, Jack Hsu, plays the erhu. I know for certain that they'll be in Kenting, and I imagine Taipei as well. If you get a chance check them out. They're endorsed by Asahi beer, so the party will be going strong.

Weez, your Dad is a remarkable man. I remember when we all went to lunch at Peninsula in Minneapolis and ordered the laksa. I had never had it before, and when it arrived I imagined it would feel as fiery coming out as it looked going in. Not so, but it's a testament to your upbringing that you could persuade anyone to roll the dice on that dish. I think about you and your father whenver I see it on a menu. I share your sentiments about being so far from family. Wouldn't it be nice to casually grab a beer with your old man after a long day? I often think of all the things I would like to do with my father - hunting, fishing, golfing, brewing, talking - and cherish the chance to share time with him whenever I'm able. Keep writing, buddy. These posts are so good.

What a trip
...Ted and Shib, that bicycle trip looks like an absolute blast. Way more fun than law school. Jon and I are going to ride RAGBRAI again this year, and we'll see if the good folks of Iowa have any stinky tofu available. For some reason, I doubt they will. Miss you guys, hope to see you sometime in the not too distant future.

BRC, well if you are going to quit your job and travel, do it now before it's too late. I won't judge you for taking a risk. I am glad that my posts inspire something. More importantly, I am glad that you read them at all. Thank you. Teaching is not what I want to be doing with my life, but it's a means to do something fun with my life for now. Kenting, to surf, might be a fun next excursion, but who knows. This summer I plan to travel around Vietnam, Cambodia, and back to Thailand. Want to meet me? The flight will cost you, but the memories...

Sounds like you two are more fit than you think. That's a hell of a bike trip. Every time I read your posts I want to quit my job and travel. A surf trip to Kenting may be in order. Ted, just before you mentioned rowing, I recalled the same memories of sunscreen, sweat, and spandex. It's a unique perfume, isn't it? So, back to teaching now? When is your next excursion? Brent

Hey dude, Discovered your blog by accident, it is quite enjoyable to see many swearwords for one of your regular mornings. Indeed, Asian culture is quite different from the Occidental one. If you want to have more grotesque experiences, perhaps you'd want to visit China and they may have vamp English schools over there! I have to go to school (as a student) in the early morning daily and I can't help saying some coarse words either. Cheers!

Nice Roadhouse reference, Ted... Other than the 7 a.m. teaching gig, that routine sounds like a pretty great gig. Hope you and Shib are continuing to enjoy your time on the other side of the Pacific...
