Hey ya! Just a little something to update everyone on the who, what, where, when, why, and how of my life ;) Who is only myself now, Dave has gone home to Canada to finish school and figure out where he wants his life to head. We're are still totally in love and talk everyday, but there's a little bit of a crossroads right now. Not to worry, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger! What I've been doing is traveling: so far to parts of England and Scotland, Paris, and Barcelona. Homebase is the west coast of Scotland at the moment, off the island finally, phew. Where is 15 Queen Elizabeth Cottages, Furnace, Argyll, Scotland PA32 8XX with Seonaid, Tatyanna & Keiran + 6. When, or for how long? Well probably at least a ... read more

Hello hello :D Just another little note before things get crazy around here. The hotel's been under renovations for the past little while and that's always a blast with a 400 y/o building! Ceilings falling in, windows leaking, etc lotsa good fun. The amount of tourists on the island is on steady increase and Easter weekend is setting up to be a mob! We've got 4 new people coming the end of this week so getting everyone organized and on the same page should be an experience. Two of those people are moving into the caravan with Dave & I so hopefully everyone gets along since it's such a small space. We've been meeting some new friends and spending more time with the locals, everyone is so great. The new chef at the Calgary hotel, ... read more

A little behind but here's the lowdown on THE TRIP! We had a great time and quite good weather as well, well at least in Paris. Glasgow was a bit wet as usual ;) We spirited off the island early in the morning Feb 14th and took a bus from Oban to Glasgow around noon. It was nice to be able to look around a bit in Oban since last time we didn't see anything (it was just a sprint friom the train to the ferry). It's bigger than I originally thought. Checked into the Euro Hostel OK and went to Est Est Est for Valetine's day dinner (barely snuck in for the set menu). It was nice but I was feeling a little under the weather (ie.moody). Then I threw Dave off going to bed ... read more

Well the forest rally has come and gone... seemed to be quite a good weekend. Although Dave and I didn't get to see much of it since we were working the whole time... kind of a trend starting I think. We haven't been that busy this month, a wee bit boring actually. And work is a bit unsure at the moment, since it seems the staff are all about to cut and run. We both really like Nick and Debbie so hopefully things work out, we'll just have to wait and see. The island is quite secluded and it would be easier if we had a car (you know me always picking the most difficult places to live ;) But in general it is such a wonderful place, the summer is going to be so different ... read more

Hi All :) Just a note to say we made it through the holidays away from home. We definately missed spending it with friends and family but also enjoyed the differences. The dance was great, it was just too bad it wasn't on all night. Just when I was getting up the nerve to try a traditional scottish dance "last song of the night" came over the mic! Shoot! oh well next time I'll try to learn same steps. Chatted most of the night with a friendly couple from Glasgow (David & Katherine) who offered a room when we are in the city next. Unfortunately I didn't get any pics since I forgot the camera. Here are some scenic ones though, from our many walks around the area. The restaurant is slowing down now but the ... read more

Just a little holiday note from Dave and I :) Everything is going well here, the weather is still quite wet. Unusually wet we've been told, even for Mull. But we managed a great walk yesterday without getting soaked. There's a dirt trail that you can almost drive on the goes up the coast to Quinish Point. It's an amazing walk which I'm sure we'll do often. There will be pics coming of a beautiful rainbow we saw on the coast. Christmas was grand, we had a Christmas goose with Nick & Debbie. It seems though that Christmas isn't as big as New Year's here so the real celebrations will be tomorrow. Tonight everyone will leave the pub and head to their homes around 11:00 for the ringing of the bells at midnight. Then everyone goes ... read more

Hello again, Sorry there's a little gap there :) We got here OK and are in the middle of getting comfortable with our new jobs and meeting all the locals. It is very beautiful here, hard to compare with Waterton but the awe is the same. I don't think I'll ever get tired of the scenary. We are both very very happy, definately enjoying ourselves. It does rain a lot here and it's pretty much been raining since we got here, although yesterday and today seem to be showing more hope of blue skies. Our last two nights in Glasgow were great, didn't do a whole lot, but the hostel was very comfortable. Euro hostel is probably the best one we've been in so far, like a hotel with all it's amenities, but cheaper. We found ... read more

Wow well, here's a little run down of what we've been up to so far. Spent the last 3 days in London and today in Edinburgh. In London we went ot the British History museum which was great and huge. Also we went to the Imperal war museum which had a great Holocost exibit and Dave loved it there ( alot of tank pics ). We also went to see a great movie from the spainish film festival called Pan Labyrinth, great show. Wandered around Piccadilly circus a lot, and yeah it really is a huge CIRCUS! So many people, very nuts! Had a good italian meal for my birthday (good mussels, which Dave tried and liked!). Ended up spending an extra night in London when our bags were locked into the hostel, but we picked ... read more

Well here we go with the very beginning... the night before the flight. Everything's packed, or so I think since I ALWAYS forget SOMETHING and I'm usually late. So this time I decided to be early, for once... we'll see how that goes tomorrow morning Right now I'm photocopying everything and sending notice to as many people as possible about our departure. That way no one can say they didn't know.. unless they don't have an e-mail... ummm anyway. Oh, and "our" would be Dave and I, my other half, my fiance, the one, however you want to put it we're doing it together. Our fight leaves from Ottawa International at 10:45 am tomorrow, great way to spend my 25th birthday, memorable at least. The whole family is coming for the drive to see us off... ... read more
