Hello all :) Well spring is fast approaching and excitement is building for 2 months trekking across Europe! I’ve been working in Kinloch Rannoch at the Dunalastair hotel, north of Edinburgh since December and it’s been working well for saving money (especially in the past few months off season). But I’ve decided I’ve seen enough of Scotland for this trip and will be flying out of Edinburgh for Amsterdam April 30th!!! I’ve booked a Busabout flexipass for some stops in major cities including Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Munich and Venice. This part of the trip should be a great chance to meet people and get into the spirit of budget backpacking. This leg of the trip should be about 3 weeks or so and then I head into Italy. I’m hoping to spend about 2 weeks or ... read more

Phew! A day off after a crazy couple months let alone a busy holiday season. Presently settling in comfortably in Kinloch Rannoch, Perthshire, the highlands of Scotland. Yeah I know... didn't last long in Ireland :( To sum it up, Galgorm was a pretty good experience but too much drama and partying. Ended up costing more than it was worth staying and Scotland has just been so much our home. So back to Scotland.. to Perthshire this time. Which is as beautiful as you'd expect from the Scottish highlands and the work/accomodation is just too good to pass up :) I'm adding a gallary of our photos from Turkey but I'll get back to that with a new post and more info. We had a blast, great weather and even a decent tan! Didn't really want ... read more

I really need to keep up to date I know, I know…. Spending more than 10 mins on a computer has been a little difficult when you don’t have much access. Next job will be much closer to a city! Gee where do I start? Barcelona was absolutely beautiful and sunny all the time. I really loved the way the city is laid out with La Ramblas, huge parks, an old fort and the beach all really close. Spent so many hours walking up and down La Ramblas. The human statues who work this area day in and day out are amazing. I also fell in love with the massive fresh market here too. So many stalls of fresh fish, cheeses, herbs, meats, bread, fruit and vegetables, even candy havens. So many things I’d never seen ... read more

So here I am to explain my hopping around for the past month. I've been searching for quite awhile and there are a lot of jobs but it takes a good detective to sift through all the people trying to take advantage. I did a trial at the Ardanaisieg Hotel on Loch Awe that only lasted 3 days.... It's an absolutely amazing place (I posted all the pics) but not taking care of their staff. I did still work hard and enjoyed meeting the staff, but was shrugged off when I explained I wouldn't be staying. Accused of not giving any notice and ignored until I left - without paying me at all I might add. I should warn others from getting sucked into this hotel, they are actually breaking the law trying to pay ... read more
