Its wonderful to read what an amazing time you are having. We'll be in Beaunne in a few weeks (staying at Dijon) so are interested to hear about this region. Loved the story about riding around Paris on the bike. Well done!

I love Paris in the summer, I love Paris in the fall,
This was the song I sang in my head the whole time we were in Paris. Even after two stays there, we would go back in an instant. I also remember even in August it was cool, so I can imagine how cold you guys are! Love your photos....I recognise those steps - they are in a few apartments in Paris. Same with the Landlord - we had to wait until someone came to let us in....good to know we weren't the only ones. C'est la vie! Love Debbie and Brian

I have loved all of your entries, even if they are turning me green with envy. Have you noticed in Paris that they park the same way as they do in Italy? Have you seen the Eiffel Tower at night - it is magnificent! What are your plans for Paris and when do you get home? Have you found Pete? Did anyone pay the ransom- you need to locate him to use his suitcase space- heaven knows you don't want to have to visit the post office again!

Venice & Paris
Hi guys Well, you certainly seemed to have walked the same route we did and its been wonderful re-living our trip through yours. I am looking forward to seeing the Murano glass purchases and anything else from Venice. Now Paris...get ready girls, if you thought Venice expensive, well Paris is...I'm sure you know by now anyway. Still you need to pay that ransom for Pete. I can't believe you sent clothes home, unless the thinking is you now have more room in your cases - if it was for that reason I think you are all very clever. Where are you going in Paris? The Louvre, Musee Dorsay, Versailles? Whatever it is we will enjoy it although not quite as much as you! Lots of love Debbie and Brian

Luggage
Hey Sandra, Did I tell you that we did our holiday in Europe with only one domestic-size, carry on bag each? This did us for a month. It's the only way to go. Saves giving Terry a bad back for the trip. We take lots of IceBreaker merino clothing that you can lightly wash in the evening and it's ready to go next morning. Wonderful stuff.

Good for the brain!!
Thanks Brenda we all feel better know. We know now that any stress we have is only adding to our brain strength. Really though we have had a dream trip and cant believe how good its been. We cant believe the volcano but guess if we cant get home we will just have to ask for donations to help tide us over in Paris. Oh, life is so hard.....

Good For the Brain
I have a very strong belief that all those 'things' that happen to you while travelling, like not being able to find car rental offices (our favourite), having to drive in strange places while on the wrong side of the road, etc., is wonderful for your brain and will keep you young. Well that's what I tell myself when the frustration starts to get to me. We're taking our GARMIN GPS this time. We'll load the French maps and hopefully that will mean that the direction-challenged Brenda will not frustrate the driver, Terry. Sorry to hear about all the rain. Last year we ditched the umbrellas and took lightweight rainjackets with hoods which rolled into tiny purses for packing. Worked well, especially in crowded areas when umbrellas are a pain. In case you haven't been hearing the news, they have closed airspace above France, Italy and Portugal again. It seems that the volcanic ash problems aren't going to disappear as quickly as we'd hoped. Here's the link:- http://www.news.com.au/breaking-news/world/ash-clouds-closes-airspace-in-france-italy-portugal/story-e6frfkui-1225864229166 Keep enjoying yourselves and keep up the great blogging!

Ah Venice...
The pics look gorgeous of Venice - I love the one where the sun is shining on the church and reflecting against the rain. Beautiful. Glad to know you are enjoying it!

Hi Sandra, Oh!!!!!!!! I am so envious, seeing your photo's of Venice has bought back so many memories of my times in Venice (one of my favorite places in the world). I look forward to reading your adventures it has certainly put a smile on my face. Tell Robyn love the shoes, if a size 5 happens to find a place in the suitcase with no home I would happily take them in. Sorry to hear you missed Monterosso, for me it was one of the best spaghetti marinara I have ever had, (save it for the next trip). Yes buying things in Venice I know is very expensive but the memories are priceless. Hope the weather improves, and enjoy every minute. Carmen

Levanto
so pleased you liked Levanto as we thought it a great spot. Not quite so touristy! Loving you photos - there is something familiar about them! Particularly the drinking of red wine but when you're in Italy what else would you do? Have a drink for us... Love Debbie and Brian
