Hi Roslyn, Quite informative blog. Good job. I\'m planning to visit Sri Lanka with my wife in few months time but without going through a travel operator. Would it be possible for you to let me know the addresses/telephone numbers and rates of the various Hotels/Guest houses you stayed in Sri Lanka (Anuradhapura, Dambulla, Sigiriya, Kandy) and if you would recommend them. Thanks in advance. Rajib

Sri Lanka
Sorry I have just come across your query re accommodation in Sri Lanka - is it to late to respond. We travelled with Bobby Travels based in Negombo - on the beach and not far from the airport at Colombo - this trip was soo cheap and after spending 5 weeks volunteering in Nepal Sri Lanka was just like heaven to us. I can get you more details if you like - heading off to Nepal in one week to volunteer again - so let me know via e-mail: amiss@activ8.net.au Regards, Roslyn

Buddhist caves
Buddhist caves are extraordinary special places. I remember the ones at Elloura in India - just stunningly beautiful and full of peace.

Glad to see you're blogging
Looks like you are having an 'interesting' (as used in China) time in Kathmandu.... We loved the local markets there too - lots of fun tiny shops - we particularly liked the shops selling turquoise and paper. Keep enjoying the monos. xx
