Woken up at 15mins before 7 this morning by Rod congratulating himself for opening my suitcase. " It's amazing how a Swiss knife can almost do anything!" he says. It was a relief, surely! With my coffee on hand i sat at the terrace and enjoyed the idyllic surround of the resort. It,s always nice to be able to do this in life... We headed down to the Coffee Terrace to have our breakfast. OJ and a bowl of spicy chicken noodles...way to go! At 0930 we started walking up to the Nature Interpretation Centre, today we are going to experience the first glimpse of the Borneo jungle... A 15 minute walk up to the nature zone just within the Shangrila resort is an area for the Orangutan rehabilitation. There they adopt Orang Utan orphans and ... read more

Our flight was delayed as the plane was late coming in from the last flight. So we just sat around and waited until finally they called for us to board. The 1.5hr flight seem so quick... After a few games of cooking dash, the plane started to descend. I would have loved to look out the window but someone was seated by the window side :-( . There was a long queue at the immigration... They are doing the biometrics for the foreigners so kinda took awhile to enter... Once out we were greeted by the Shangri-La crew and introduced as to the' Captain ' who led us to the car. The drive took 45minutes through the city and then we entered the road of darkness. The road has no lampposts...better be safe here I told ... read more
