the 18 year old aussie who's running of to argentina for 12 months

currently i'm stuck in darwin. there is nothing worse than 3 months with nothing to do but wait. no matter what you, it simply can not pass any faster. have attempted however by

a. going faster than the speed of light. without my drivers lisence, and student income however i have to say, it bloody difficult to reach such speed with the power of 2 rather stumpy legs, (even when holding onto the leash of crazed dog chasing ball)

b. investing in a time machine. can i please mention that this turned out to be as much as a scam as the penis enlargers, or russian husband that i bought the other week...

c. reattempting to read the bible for the 50th time in my life. which includes the time when i thought i could talk to god (8 years), when my heart was set on a career as an theologian, and recently when stuck at hays creek for 2 nights with 2 men who communicated via grunts after been bogged, walking 10km to the highway, flagging a lift, calling for help then getting bogged again, with the RESCUE verhicle starting the whole sorry proccess again

but as bob dylan once inaudably moaned "thats life, and life only ma"

well settle down everyone. As i have 2 hours to spare till my bus comes, and am generally pretty lazy with keeping people updated this is going to be a mother of an entry. That is if i can stand the ear drum bleeding music that the crazed video game boy is playing next to me. Dam sometimes I hate internet cafes. First things first, my life in rosario. In terms of those who have got it hard, i hardly think i fall in that category. I get up at 10 -11 am on weekdays, maybe struggle under the shower (which is harder than what you might think with my old friend, the slightly upgraded bucket), have a cup of tea and read the morning news. Then at 1 pm trundle of to school until ... read more

Admitedly i love chaos. Its not that i encorage anarchy or anything its just that when the tablecloth trips, the curtain rod colapes, the books fall, and the trolley flies down the hill, i´m standing in the middle screaming sugar honey ice tea (we have underage readers on this site). Which is probably why i feel happy in my new host family. We are, well huge. I live a crumbling, giant old house in the center of town, across the road is a flamico dance school (shame its not tango), and a pizza shop which is mades for an excellent sensual experience standing on the balcony every night. I share a room with my two host sisters, we wear each others clothes as we can´t locate our own, and i tend to be dressed by ... read more

Hcello Hcello Hcello. Well, I´ve been absent for a little while in my blogging land. Drifting around in reality, and email but i´ve dropped back in. Just to let you know what has happened in the last 2 months, or so, with the tales of Villa Carlos Paz. For those of you who don´t know I´ve changed host families and towns. Its amazing how much a host family can affect your exchange especially in the first few months, and the last 2 weeks have been a lot of fun. As you will all read in my next entry cause my new family is awesome. For those of you who are what i would describe as an anal user of the english language and are infurirated with my use of the word awesome, it is in ... read more

N.B- this entry was written over a week ago, i just didn´t getting around to publishing it.... arghhhhhh we´re off again, just. It´s four am on a Friday night and i am crammed into an original 1950 bright orange piece of crap with 5 hysterical Argentine girls being dropped home by my gym teacher. Welcome to Argentina Sally... It all started out rather sane, a dinner with my host sisters friends, eat some meat, and listen to some more Spanish i won´t understand, and answer countless questions about kangaroos, and koalas. Pleasant, quiet, even a tad boring, i though. Hmmm, am learning fast to factor in the nature of the people, and the amount of sugar Argentines consume. Argentina, or at least my town Villa Carlos Paz is a bit like a hyped up 5 year ... read more

From those of you have known me since I could pull down the curtain rods, would know that at some stage or another a chick whose key aim in life was to climb to the top of something regardless of what that object is would understand that my life would be defined for pointless aims. To be honest while I always wanted to go on exchange, the experience that I was imagined entailed living a. a nomadic tribe in Mongolia and learning to ride a horse, b. being the only white person on a tiny island in Samoa, or c. living in Asia to see what it is like sharing a 1 room house with 10 people. Unsurprisingly then, my initial desire to go on exchange was fuelled by the notion of reading Don Quixote in ... read more
