I am not sure if we were really excited to sightsee today or if our motel was super scary, but we were up early and moving. I finally got a internet connection and was able to update the blog and send a few emails. After some time surfing, we headed to the grocery store to pick up some drinks and snacks. Next, we headed back to Hood River and headed to the post office to grab some postcard stamps. We asked the clerk for her recommendation for a place to eat breakfast, she said go see "Bette" at Bette's place. So a short walk later, we pulled up a stool at the counter and had a great breakfast. After breakfast we wandered thru the town and did a little window shopping before heading out. Our ... read more

Today, we decided to sleep in a little, not remembering that the sun actually rises around 4:45am and our curtains were not quite drawn tight enough. We got ourselves up and ready and packed our bags. We rented our car with Budget and they came and picked us up at our hotel at 10am. After signing away my life and left arm on the rental agreement, we were on our way south on I5. We quickly decided the best route and headed right for Mt. Rainier National Forest. We arrived at the main gate of the park around 12pm. After paying the $15 fee, we were on our way. We decided to head for Paradise, that's right... Paradise... which is the location of the main visitor center on Mt. Rainier. On the way up we ... read more

Today, we started our day fairly early. We decided to take a walk down to the Puget Sound for our breakfast. We picked up a pastry and a drink at Starbucks (Imagine that!... There is one on every corner here) and headed out to the end of a pier. After breakfast and a few minutes of taking in the beautiful view of the Olympic Mountain Range, we headed back uphill to the hotel. The Moore's picked us up around 10am and we headed out for a personal tour. We headed down to Safeco Stadium to try to pick up some tickets for the Mariner's game on Sunday, July 15th, but the box office was not open. From there we headed up to the Queen Anne Hill Section of town to take in the beautiful view ... read more

Our trip started this morning at 7:20am EST. We flew out on USAirways. Because of all the business travel I do, we were automatically upgraded to first class all the way, which was very nice. We enjoyed more leg room, lunch, and many perks that you don't get in coach. My mom was siked, since this was her first time..... We flew from Syracuse to Philly, Philly to Phoenix, then Phoenix to Seattle. On the Philly to Phoenix leg, there was a Washington Capitals NHL Hockey player sitting in front of us. That is my claim to fame... When we arrived in Phoenix, my mom swears she saw Snoop Doggie Dog, which is her claim to fame. When we were getting close to Seattle, we got a lovely view of Mt. Rainier. We were greeted ... read more
