(Even though i'm writing this on the 26th i'm marking it the 24th because that's when we went to Verona) We woke up (earlyish) and headed to the market by 10:00. On the way to the market 800 sheep, horses, goats and dogs bombarded us. They surrounded the car and made it completly impossible to move. We asked the shepard how many and he said "800". I've NEVER seen anything like that, or heard that many "bahs"at once. At the market mum bought these gorgeous curtains that feel like tafata and will look lovely in our living room. I bought a dress, and I also bought mum a scarf (it was cold). I then enjoyed my FIRST Italian cappucino (fantastico!). So after mum's stomach stopped growling and after she stopped snoring I finally fell asleep. When we woke up (and thought it was morning) mum looked at her watch (without numbers) and thought it was seven. Antonia burst into our room anouncing it was 1pm. We felt very embaressed of sleeping in. The blinds over the window don't let any sunlight in whatsoever. We woke up and felt completely drunk (with jetlag). After some coffee and breakfast we drove to Chiuppano (my nona's home town) to see some more relatives. So, we are HERE. Our flight from Vancouver to London was delayed an hour and a half, and when it comes down to it it was probably delayed for more than that due to the fact we did not go up in the air until well after 11pm. Other than that, all of our flights and connections were smooth sailing. I have already started shopping for everyone =) Its late, and I am wayyy tired. More tomorrow.... read more

I'm 95% done packing. Does anyone else feel kind of depressed while packing? As excited as I am for this trip, i'm also strongly feeling what i'm going to be walking away from. I know that it's only 4 weeks but 4 weeks is a month and a month just sounds like such a long period of time. I miss Gord already. I'm going to miss my cats so, so much. If any of you can come over and pet them for me (as silly as that sounds) it would mean so much to me. We leave tomorrow. I'm only posting this today because I want to get a feel for how this site works. I'll most likely post again tomorrow while killing time at the airport or a few days into my trip. Ciao!... read more
