Funny I was laughing at your account of your trip. I'm Belizean and it's very entertaining to see Belize through other people's eyes. Our food, I believe, is THE BEST on earth. My kids get tired of me cooking Belizean and occasionally want to go buy a burger! Sacrilege I say! lol! I'm from Placencia, but Caye Caulker is lovely and relaxing for sure. Can't wait to read your next blog :) Happy travels!
Re: Arrogant Money Well, without our "arrogant money" (didn't know money could have a personality), you would not exist. Please don't stereotype and generalize all Western travelers.....and btw, you're definitely dating yourself with the Fantasy Island references. Now serve me breakfast and I'll tip you 25 cents of my arrogant money before you bitch more to your familia. Gracias.
great Its great when the tourists come and bring their arrogant money and think they are in Fantasy Island
where a TV show comes to life for a boring hour. Why not stay pick a book up and learn something about
where you are going or would that be too hard? Anglo-saxons should learn a bit about themselves and
be more open to understanding that other Races and ethnicities are also human beings and not their
servants in a restaurant or a tv show called Fantasy Island!
I just happened by because I was cleaning out old files in outlook and I thought I'd pop in to have a look at your blog. I agree with you absolutely about the US. It was a constant refrain of "What just happened then? Did that really just unfold like that?" I love the place. Keep up the writing Patrick...it's always entertaining.
Give up your day job Patrick
Love reading your travel jounal so much I recommend you give up your day job and become a travel writer... seriously.. Athena
Lovely! Oh Patrick, I so enjoy reading of new Americans enjoying the pleasures of our country! I too attended Grant's tomb and was denied a tour, but note, my hubby is on it! Let no other American be denied access to our great history! And that Tamara you are with is quite lovely I must say.
Sincerely,
Michelle O.
Jee peers creepers That entry should earn you credits in some sort of masters...

I can't stop laughing Hi Patrick. I just found your blog on the internet. I have been reading this at work and cannot stop laughing. The urine lady would fit in perfectly in seattle. And I am glad that you have deduced that all of america's many programs can be summed up in one: high fructose corn syrup :) I can't believe you were on the west coast of the U.S and you didnt come see me in Seattle. You sound like you are having a lot of fun. Be safe.
oy patgat! i have only just discovered your roving reports in earnest, have done some giggling and am looking forward to hearing all the censored bits when we cohabit in LONDON (are we still on? when do you aim to get there? i should be there start of aug, going via russia(!!)) woooo

cracking eggs on head absolutely inspired!! reading that section on confetti eggs had me in stitches - gotta breathe a bit of life into that slightly painful and potentially harmful ritual once again - but this year with renewed vigour now i know it is an already established cultural custom!
