Checking in Hi Nicole - just checking in. Thinking of you often and hoping things are going really well with school but that you are also getting some exploration time in. Take care - Michele
I responded I think to your first entry but it looks like you are safe and not living in some dark hostel (a mother's worry when being abroad). Remember that learning a new language takes 5-7 yrs to become academically fluent (my masters study) but that within 6mos. to a years you should be able to understand A LOT and speak your wants and needs fairly well, though simplistic. There's always a silent period at the beginning (lots of input into your brain but not so much output) and then one day the flood gates open and figure out how to get those thoughts out! Anyways dear, we are all fine here. The winter has been especially cold and Jerry and I just had a great day of skiing in the local mountains after the big snow... our goal always being to LAST all day and not break any bones, which we did. The mountain air was so clear and clean and we could see al the way to the coast at the top. Miss Katie is freezing in NY and "daddy" decided to pay her flight to sunny so cal for Spring break in a couple of weeks. I miss the "youthfulness" in our home. We had a Love Fest here for Valentine's Day. Some singles got together from our new church and wanted to cook dinner and hang out and honor "friendship" and it was a blast. (I thought of you and how you would have liked this group). Jeremy just met us up int mountains this weekend to hang and enjoy the snow. He's been super busy with work. Lindsay is just enjoying her space and only occasionally joins us. I miss her though. My mom is taking precedent in my life still and has 5 more chemise to go..ugh! She's really doing okay but I see her getting weaker. Twas disappointed not to see you before you left but know how time flies. Lord, continue to keep Nicole safe and allow only the best opportunities to cme her way. Amen. Love ya! Aunt Tina
enjoyed the information.. Sorry to hear you caught a cold but travel does that to a person. I'm sure you're doing better by now. I hope you have good celebrations planned for your birthday. Look forward to more posts. :)
Good for you Massage is often used by some people instead of chiropractic to release tension in their back. Sounds like an excellent thing to do as I will bet that you are carrying a lot of tension in your back while studying hard etc.
I went to Greg Konkels retirement afternoon cake feast day before yesterday. He is headed for Thailand in the next few weeks. He said he would look you up. He is planning to retire there.
Hope everything else is going well too.
love ya lots

This journey is years in the making... Being from the US, I have always wanted to live overseas and immerse myself into different cultures and explore foreign places! I have decided to start my journey in Thailand this year and see what opportunities teaching English will take me.. The TESOL course begins, February 2011 in Bangkok, a place I have never been... and so begins this next chapter in my life... with Love, from Thailand. ... full info
