This entry is going to be short because I have a limited amount of free internet time at the hostel. Interesting things since the last entry... - Waking up at 4;30 am didn't feel bad at all due to extreme jet lag. I actually woke up an hour early, at 3;30 - brilliant -I actually slept on my flight to Rome! The seat next to me was empty so I lay down and boom - two and a half hour nap. -It took me flippin forever to find my hostel. It is "really easy to get to the hostel" from the Termini station, only "a five minute walk". Well, I have something to say to that. Ok, so. Second entry. I apologize in advance if this is incoherent or rambling or both. In about 2 minutes I will be celebrating my 31st consecutive hour without sleep. Well, that's not entirely true. I slept o. The bus by accident, but that comes later. I'll try to just include the highlights instead of writing a novel. Interesting story #1: even though my layover in Dublin was 24 hours - enough to pretty much need to stay at a hotel - aer lingus kindly transferred my luggage to the Rome flight for me. Great! One more bag not to have to haul around. BUT WAIT. All my clothes are in there. Oops. Good thing I packed extra socks and underwear in my carry-on. I just wanted to post an entry to see what it's like. Turns out it's pretty easy. A little background on my trip for those who don't know. I'm taking a year off between high school and college to work on organic farms. Why? It's not something I can explain easily. The best I can say is that I need it. I need a break from academics and obligations and the craziness I usually create for myself to live in. I want to see the world, learn new languages, and experience new cultures. I think it will give me a good context for what I am about to pay thousands of dollars to learn from a book. Why organic farming? I love to be physically active.
